Winterized skirt + orphan

The skirt is sheer and I loved it so much I kept wearing it in Winter. Skirt, top and tights are ink blue. The bag was an impulse splurge and I feel it never looks right. Honestly I like the outfit better without it.

Should this bag have a future with me? Why or why not? Thanks!

Angie, it's an Ann Taylor rayon/nylon scoop neck short sleeve sweater top (sleeves quite long for being short). From Spring 2012. They were out in black so I settled for inky blue and have been SO grateful because that started me on an ink blue kick, such a refreshing change from black.

Angie and Cin, I still love the purse to look at, love the color, but when I wear it it feels strange. Too big? Not sleek enough? But just now I had to make a delivery downtown and I caught sight of myself in a glass wall as I walked along and thought the purse didn't look bad! How does it strike you?

Great job Winterizing that skirt, Adelfa. Love this outfit with the pearls. I don't think the bag looks too big and it's a lovely colour. Perhaps you would feel it looks sleeker without the tassel? Is it removable?

Inge you are totally cracking me up! I love that tassel! But as soon as you said it I realized you were probably right!

And who knew, it is attached with a little chain that features a lovely lobster clasp! So now the the tassel is hanging from my bookcase, and the bag looks MUCH better! I am excited, thank you!

Your flapper-inspired outfit is wonderful. Nothing to change about that. But I understand why you didn't feel the bag with it. I also understand why you chose it.

This outfit requires a smaller, more delicate handbag, with some feminine detail on it (roundness/beads/tassle). It should also have a long strap.

The tassle may be why you chose the one shown here. But the purse is too bulky. I don't know if you should keep it, I think it may look nice with other styles, such a casual boho (I can visualize you in bootleg jeans, heels, and a nice relaxed, slightly oversized jacket with that bag). But I do know that the present outfit asks for another type of bag.

Krish, I'm thinking about what you said. I think it's true the bag has a slight boho feel. I did not expect this because when I saw the picture online of the front, I saw the strong V detail and thought it was crisper than it was.

While I'm not sure what you'd call my style, I'm pretty sure I'm not at all boho. So I think you might be right that there's a style disconnect between me and the bag. That's what I keep feeling. Thanks!
