With my recent weight loss I've been forced to reduce the size of my closet out of necessity, since I can't afford to replace everything right away (OK, if I spent all my time thrifting maybe I could afford it financially, but not time-wise...). To my surprise I'm finding I don't mind much at all. We always debate about what is the right amount of wardrobe items, and minimalism vs maximality, etc. What I'm starting to realize is that it's not, most of the time, the option in my closet that I miss - it's the whole emotional story around getting to shop for it, finding a bargain or the perfect thing, all that jazz.

Anyway, I've purchased new hangers for my jackets and trousers, and plan to do the same for tops and skirts - I have gotten everything down to a set # in each category and plan to follow a strict one in, one out philosophy in the future. Same with the stuff in the drawers, although that's still a little in flux since I'm not quite at the weight I'm aiming for.

Or maybe it's just that my style is getting a little simpler and more particular. Call me crazy, but I think it's easier to wear simpler silhouettes when you're closer to an 'ideal weight' (whatever that is!) because you tend to have less things you're trying to distract from. Or maybe I'm just getting old and finding other hobbies.
