This is my last post about my LBD, I promise! You have all been very helpful, and by posting my ideas here and getting your responses, I now feel confident that I have made a good decision about how I want to present myself the forthcoming Saturday.

Here is how I have concluded:
The event is a party with friends and their friends, too, probably about 40 people. It will be an educated and urban crowd. We are having Bacalao for dinner, and will chat and dance into the wee hours afterwards. This is not happening every month in my life

I very early decided that I want to wear my new Boss LBD because it is very sleek and neutral, and has great fit. I asked you to help me style it, and you gave me food for thought. Thank you for making my head spin

Because of my love for retro elements, I tried knitting a shrug in a mid-toned blue to bridge the Winter and Spring seasons. The shrug turned out to be a detour. It received mixed opinions in the forum, and that is of course just fine. I like the shrug as it is. The breaking point for me, however, was that I didn't feel like me in it, particularly not with this dress. My style descriptor is Queen Modern Classic. I also have an arty/playful aspect to my style, but it is not necessarily retro even though I love retro elements in outfits in general.

I decided to wear an outfit that better represents ME, with emphasis on Modern, Classic and with a hint of Playful. Other limitations included Angie's advice of not going all black, particularly not now in Spring, and that I didn't want to buy anything new for this occasion since I've been shopping enough lately, and I will rather spend my money on my daily wear.

The final result:
#1 LBD with fuchsia clutch and black snakeskin embossed pumps (closed toes are best, it is still very cold at night, and I need a hose).
#2 LBD with black leather bomber and close up of the clutch
#3 The addition of a silk scarf in blues, greens, purples and browns. Will stay on or left off in accordance with the temperature.
#4 Accesories: A thin silver chain necklace, sparkly silver earrings, a ring clustered with silver pearls. Side view of the dress.
#5 Accessories II: Scarf, clutch, ring, earring, shoes, black micro fishnet. I might swap the hose for a sheer black hose with small pin dots
#6 Two alternatives for outerwear, depending on the weather/temperature. I do need a larger bag anyway, so I will probably be wearing the black tote with the fuchsia clutch inside along with the shoes.
#7 Final result: LBD with scarf, bomber, clutch and accessories

I'm nervous: What is the verdict of the honorable jury? I'm still open to suggestions, and all comments are appreciated. Thank you for looking, reading and being patient with this not so often at parties-girl.

ETA: The party was yesterday, and I had a blast! So many fun and interesting people I loved to see again, and a few new ones, too. My outfit was perfect for the occation. I was dressed up, but not too much, and felt perfectly comfortable. Honestly, I must admit that I haven't received as many compliments in a very long time. Very good for my self esteem I danced the night away, yay! When we finally left, my red coat earned me the label "best dressed for the evening".

I owe this to you, YLF. Thanks!
