WIMW: Stars & Stripes

Here is an outfit I'm considering, if it's not too whackadoodle for pattern-mixing. I was relying on the soft neutrals, and the narrow seersucker stripe to not look as though I'm wearing a flag. and the tailored skirt to upgrade the T-shirt. At work is largely covered by lab coat so there is a lot of volume over the tailored silhouette but then for coming and going I would wear this EF cardigan..
The AT paper-bag waist skirt has pockets, BTW but I have never unstitched them.
Is this something only suitable for July 4th ?! Comments welcome.

I like it. I think it's great for all warm weather, not only for July 4th. Now if the skirt were red/white striped, it might cross over into costume-y, but I think the monochromatic look works.

Not whackadoodle at all. I agree with Becky, the seersucker is subtle so no need to limit this to July 4th. For the 4th you’ll need to pull out your special headband!

Can't even see the "stripes" in the photo and suspect it's a similar effect in real life - something Angie has referred to as a false plain, ie/ a pattern so subtle that the eye reads it more as texture (or at least that's my interpretation). Even if it qualifies as pattern mixing, it's two different scales of pattern which is also a good rule of thumb. Etc, etc - basically I think it looks great, and not at all theme-y. Just a well-put together outfit.

Thank you for the comments and observations. I will give this a bash.
I tend to wear relatively light- colored skirts or prints with some light colors in summer, along with medium- light footwear with the “ bare leg” look.

Love this and great for July 4th if it isn't too warm. If you wanted you could add a pop of red or coral for the 4th.

I like it! I think the subtle stripe really works with the stars. The tee is fun and in just blue and white need not be reserved for just the 4th of July. However, I do think for the 4th you might want to wear that tee with a pair of red or white shorts and red sandals, if you have them!
