It's great to hear this outcome, Dee. An inspiring story of listening to your intuition!

Good decision, Dee!

Well done on sticking to your guns!

A piece of advice I once heard here & has always stuck with me is 'You will like a garment the MOST in the dressing room'.

In other words, if that piece of clothing isn't already making you happy at the point of purchase, it's likely going to spark less joy once the newness of that shiny new item has worn off. Good on you for using your gut as a gauge.

Yay for you, Dee. Good reasoning.

I am late to the party but wanted to add something that I did not see in other comments as to why you were unsure regarding such a cute dress.
I wear skirts and dresses around the house frequently throughout the summer as a change up from shorts.
But they are long, flowy, breezy dresses that allow movement and keep me covered when bending over, stretching etc. Something shorts allow for but not so much a knee length dress.

So good to go with your intuition. And by returning the dress you can move on to buying other fab things!

Probably smart to go with your instincts. I have ignored mine before and regretted it.
