Will blush stand the test of time?

It seems I have been hunting a non-black coat long enough to wear with dresses forever... or at least as long as I've been on YLF. I had a brief stint with one - an orange Angie recommendation that was gorgeous - but the lining kept riping so we had to part ways. It was a sad day. Since then I've been hunting for a replacement.

I am drawn to this season's masculine coats and love Zara's blush version. But I'm worried that it'll be passe by next season and then I'd be back to the frustration of square one. What do you think? Can I get a few seasons wear out of a pink blush masculine coat?

Yes. Blush is not a seasonal thing. It's a colour that is always in style.

I almost consider blush a neutral color since it can be so versatile.

Does it matter whether it's this year's "it color"? If the coat looks great and fits into your wardrobe's color scheme, it will always have a space in your day-to-day outfit construction. In other words, don't let what other people tell you about fashion to be happy about your choices.

Of course, I say this because I've been loading up on burgundy this season, despite "oxblood" being "last year's color"!

I've had some blush tops for several years now so I agree it's not necessarily trend specific. I like the idea of a ladylike color to offset the masculine cut.

I'm with Charmian. If you like the color and how the coat looks, I'd get it and not worry about what others think. FWIW, I think that in general, colors are more long lasting than unusual cuts or designs of clothing.

I would put a lot of weight on whether the color or particular version of the color is flattering, if thinking longevity. Then usually what is noticed is that it looks good on you.

Yep, I'm with Charmian! If I love a color (cobalt, burgundy, emerald), I stock up when it trends but wear it for years. I still thoroughly enjoy my mint green items even though the color has disappeared from the fashion radar.

I've just recently fallen in love with blush and I hope it stays in style a long time. I think it's just a lovely shade of light neutral that is very flattering for so many women. That coat from Zara is stunning.
