Just after 2 pm and it's darker and oranger. It's cold too. Labor Day it was 105° and today it's still in the 60s. We're safe from fires here for now, but I'm afraid the smoke means new fires.
This is so strange. My MD nephew and his MD wife, who came back to Australia to help with Covid 19, live in an area of No. California where a new fire is spreading. Their house is safe for now, but there are many homes lost already.
And my 11-yr old grand-nephew has learned a new word: "Apocalypse."
My phone doesn't show how orange it is but it looks a lot like Rachy's photos.
When I step outside there are hundreds of birds out and I hear frogs chirping away. The berries on our 7 pistache trees are just ripening and the birds and squirrels are busy at work.
