In my goals I gave myself permission to buy 4 wildcards per year. It is somewhat hilarious that my "wildcard" purchase is a black pants suit because for many that is not a wildcard at all. But it is for me for the following reasons:

- I rarely wear pants (jeans yes, trousers not much at all with only one other pair of black pants in my largish wardrobe)
- Whilst black is a favourite neutral, I am a colours person at heart, so using up a wildcard purchase on black is very rare for me
- The jacket is double breasted (I rarely wear double breasted jackets)
- The jacket is oversized...

So why did I buy this?

When I put it on, it made me feel like I belonged in Bananarama... I don't know why that image came to mind, but it is very 80's and I really love the 80's.

Throw on a belt, and suddenly I have a waist... I love the belted waist look (so 80's)...

There are stars... I have a thing for stars... (2 star print shirts, a t-shirt, some boots) - so tick to a subtle star print which is black on black so not evident in the photos..

Most importantly, it feels fresh and different, which is the main thing I look for in a wild card.

I hope this is just flattering enough, I don't expect that this will be my best look.

Suggestions to help me style this wildcard purchase are much appreciated, apologies that the photos are so bad. I do think the oversized blazer may be fun over my sheath dresses.
