Wildcard?

Love the color, but wondering if they'll skew 'dowdy' on me? May depend on what else I'm wearing, I suppose. Anyone else struggling visually with block heels after years of stilettos?

Those are GORGEOUS -- as is other footwear you own. The color will keep them from looking dowdy, and your personal style even more so. Plus, they seem pointier than other block heeled pumps I've seen. Hope you get them so I can live vicariously. I can't keep pumps on my feet plus have no need for them in the actual life I lead.

I am seeing pleated skirts and A-line skirts which I know will flatter my heavy legs due to their hem width, but I KNOW I don't have the talent or pieces to make the rest of the outfit look modern and not like something my aunt used to wear.

I LOVE those shoes!!

I do not find block heels dowdy. Not with the right outfit. I guess it's because I need to walk, and I like a heel.

It's all in the type of block heel and the styling. These would be brilliant on you.

I love them, the color and pattern are so stunning. I do not think they could look dowdy at all unless styled with outdated 80's pantsuits If worn with modern and edgier clothes they would look super trendy.

I don't see dowdy at all. Just don't dress like Margaret Thatcher above the ankles and you'll be all set. They're a fantastic color and I would be tempted except I have a similar blue sea pair (but with ordinary narrow heel) from a couple of years ago that I still dearly love.

Ann, I vote jump on them! I ordered these in the light tan to replace a similar colour pair of kitten heels. If they work, they'll be the 6th pair of block heels in my wardrobe--I am actually rushing to replace my stilettos as they are looking dated to me.

Great minds think alike! Love them! Not dowdy, and I have never once seen you post anything that looks even close to dowdy. As you know, I ordered them also. I purchased a similar pair earlier this year in a different color, but returned them because they were a tiny bit snug. I thought about stretching them but with the pointed toe thought they might get distorted so I returned them. I ordered these 1/2 size larger.
