wide & white in winter? (not about my thighs)

So these Madewell wide-leg crop jeans in white came home with me, because white denim that fits splendidly and isn't show-through generally gets thorough examination, if only on principle.

All the pictures show them styled for summer. But I'm hoping they're (mild)winter-able, starting with high-shaft black boots to close the gap. Tops and toppers, I'm not quite able to envision. Any suggestions?

Or is this a summer-only garment?

Either way: will the new wide-over-wide proportions work with this length?

(I'm not in a physical state to experiment more than mentally right now, and most of the clothes I might try with these are in holding-zone tubs in the storage room.)

I think they'd go well with clear, bright tops, to match the brightness of the pants. I suppose you could do pastels but then you'd need to lighten up your footwear as well.
Any muddy colour (which is what you typically where in the fall) I don't think looks that great with white pants. That's just one person's opinion though!

I could see gray and black with these, to give a winter vibe, and to tie in with the black booties. You can add touches of any shade of red with that combo, too, or sparkle, to create a festive outfit for the holidays. They would go nicely with plaid shirts, even if there isn't white in the plaid, but if there is, all the better. I think a cropped boxy top would work fine. I'm not sure about longer wide ones. I would try and see.

I agree with Firecracker, I like to wear white jeans all the year, so just style them as she said.

Of course, they work and i wear white all the time during every season.

Here's an example of what I wore recently.

I recently saw a man in L.A. who inspired me with it. He had on white jeans and a black tee and looked spectacular.

My thinking aligns with Vicki. Something high contrast, like the black she styled it with. A powerful red would be very striking with them also, and it would read Christmas in a not-literal way.

Usually every January the fashion magazines feature nautical looks often in red, white and navy. These pants will be perfect. Maybe a striped knit top and navy or black blazer for a classic look.
