Hi friends, after an *extremely* frustrating shopping morning, I think I've cobbled together a decent outfit for a non-traditional wedding I'm going to in the early spring, by using Angie's quiet column formula. It's an evening affair in a funky and non-traditional restaurant. I wanted something kinda modern to honour the evening hour but in a spring-appropriate colour to honour the season and happy occasion. And of course I had a budget to contend with too. Hoping the gold belt (and I'll add some more gold accents) will bling it up enough! The shirt has a bit of ruching around the waist which makes it more forgiving - just realized I had it pulled too flat in this photo hahah ... this is on brand for this day!

As we've bemoaned before, the Canadian retail landscape is grim! With lots happening over the next few weeks, I wanted to get this done while I had time today. I would have liked a dress, but everything was either terrible quality, really short, not modest enough for my personal taste, or one of 100 shades of cream and beige, which is all fine and well - but not at a wedding where the bride is wearing off-white. Even if I'd upped the budget, I wasn't getting far.

So this is it. It works with my wool coat too in case its cold. Spring in Canada lol ... it could go either way!

Thanks for looking and for any encouragement after this incredibly frustrating shopping morning *facepalm*.

(PS - I don't have that lovely Mulberry bag but I'll find something similar)
