WIB...skinny jeans and a backpack!

I was going to extend my July shopping break through August, but I was down 3 pair of jeans by the end of the month due to wear and tear. A trip to the big city wasn't in the cards, so I popped into 'Winners' to see what was in store....just in case.

Pickings were slim in my size, but a pair of JBrand jeans ($29.95) stood out. They are a dark-wash high-rise slim (skinny?) fit, but (surprise!) fit my calves. They have 'Maria' on the label, but also the name 'Brittany'. Fabric is 92% cotton, 7% polyester, 1% elastane. I've worn them twice and they haven't bagged out. They are super comfortable and on their way to becoming my new favourite jeans. I don't know much about JBrand jeans, but they seem to be a premium denim that usually retails for around $200 CA! I also picked up a pair of white Sketcher faux-Cons, and the Hershel back pack arrived!

I LOVE the floral print of the backpack (thanks Jules!) and think it will elevate my casual puffer and backpack days when I'm doing the library run.

Great outfits! I like both pairs of sneakers and the striped shirt is just right with the floral!

Love the backpack! I wonder if j brand is equivalent to d brand thats at Marshall's? I have some of those and they're the most comfortable jeans, feel like leggings. And all of 12$ or so.

JBrand is a great premium brand - one that I will always check out if I find second hand because they hold up great. You look smashing in them!

Ok , this is the best look ever ! Those jeans are so terrific on you - super flattering . I have a pair of J Brands from a few years ago ( Nordstrom - maybe a NAS buy? ) and quite like them . Paid a lot more than $22 for them I also LOVE this backpack - Herschel is a great line . I want to copy your whole look:)

J Brand is one of my favorites. In the early days of premium denim, they were the first to move away from the blinged-out styles that became popular (rhinestones on the butt, etc) to popularize a simple, streamlined look. No extra stitching on the back pocket, and nice solid washes without a ton of exaggerated whiskering. I want to say my first expensive jeans were J Brand 811 jeans - that's an oddly specific memory and might be wrong! (Expensive for me at the time meant probably bought at a thrift store, but for $50 instead of $10! I was a frugal grad student.)

I have a pair of Marias, too - got them at Beacon's Closet thrift store in NYC last year. Unfortunately they're a size too small now, but I loved them, because they were high waist without squishing me too much. I'm saving them in case I become smaller again.

Those jeans look fantastic on you Carla. I have seen J Brand jeans in stores that carry premium denim and I like the look of them. I have never tried them on. Not sure why. Great find at Winners.

What Inge said. Those jeans do look like they were made for you. At that price you may want to duplicate. I have some white JBrand jeans that are not see through and do not bag out.

The jeans look great Carla! J Brand Maria is my favorite skinny Jean right now. It’s a high rise Jean, although the J Brand Natasha is slightly higher, and I like those also. That’s a great price for them!
