Hi all,
I'm not a regular thrifter at all. Most of the time, I don't seem to have much luck, and leave the thrift store empty handed. Not so the last week. I've found one pair of gold sandals, a cachmere scarf, a preppy RL blazer - and three skirts. This is not a K/R, but feel free to assess the pieces honestly - I'm very curious about whether this was worth it or not. I'm also curious to find out when the skirts are from.
#1: I have been looking around for a white Summer skirt, but haven't seen any I liked. This one is in cotton, it is full, and it is lined so no see through. Perfect fit. Unfortunately lined in poly, but still. We hardly suffer scorching heat her anyway. I think it can fill that wardrobe hole.
#2: Graphic floral pattern in red, beige, black and chocolate brown on cream bottom, cotton. I was attracted to the red color, basically. It is lined, and A-line with a fold on left hip for extra width. It fits me perfectly. When I bought it, it had a hideous thin hip belt in self fabric, but I removed it and the straps. I wore this outfit to work last Thursday with some success, I think.
#3: Linen skirt with butterflies. This is the first pink garment I've bought in decades. I was attracted to all the colors in the pattern, and it goes with almost everything I have of tops, blouses and shirts. Shoes, too. It fits, but I want to take it in a little at the waist to get a perfect fit. (I've needled it in the photo.)
#4: Bonus pic of the white skirt with the prep school jacket
#5: Gold sandals, real leather and comfortable. Italian.
#6: Cashmere scarf by the brand Pure. Perfect condition. Are people crazy - it's brand new.
A curious mind wants to know: Do these skirts work with my style? Are they dated?
Thanks for reading! Any and all comments are valuable to me.
