Just over a year ago, I posted a haul from a nearby comfort shoe store that offers massive discounts in their bargain attic, especially in my sizes (10-11/41-42). Of those shoes, I only own one pair (the black pumps) and rarely wear them. They're moderately comfy and my only "dressy" shoe, so I'm holding onto them.

I've needed to replace my kick-around black shoes that I didn't wear all winter because they are in such bad shape. Every morning I wanted to put them on, but they really were about to go kaput.

After several failed Zappos tries, I stopped in that store again with those shoes in mind, as well as my spring list of loafers, boat shoes, slip-on sneakers, and possibly a Birk-type sandal. Since my purchases from that store last time were flops, I was much more discerning this time. If anything bothered me at all, it went back on the shelf. I left behind some incredible shoes! And I do mean incredible. That store and their bargain attic is amazing; the downfall is that everything upstairs is final sale (full-price items are store-credit only).

1-3: Ara Luca -- my everyday black shoe replacement. I really need a pair like this! I have oxfords and nicer shoes, but when I just want to run errands, I want a pair just like this. It's what I've worn for years, after I finally swore off Danskos, LOL. My question: Can I wear these with cropped pants, as in 2-3? I wasn't looking for that option at all, but I'm surprised to say that I actually like the look.

4-5: Waldlaufer Gitta Taupe -- neutral loafer that doesn't slip off my foot!

6-7: Comfort Maven by Mercy Kara -- strappy maryjane that is insanely comfortable. A black flat wasn't on my list, but when I find one that is comfortable, fits, and doesn't fall off my foot, I buy it!

8: Wolky Churley in orange/red fantasy -- crazypants sandals! I'd tried all the Birks and Birk-like sandals that were in the store, without luck. Then as I was gathering my boxes for the above shoes, I spotted this crazy orange sandal sitting on a bench by itself. I tried it on and it was love!! I asked the SA for help finding its mate and box, and she found it! Hooray. I was in a hurry because my meter had expired, so this was a bit of a whim, but oh do I love them at home all styled.

Like I said in that foot twin thread, I am completely used to coming home empty-handed after trying on dozens of shoes. It's the norm. I am thrilled at my finds today, plus the (men's) chukkas I found a couple of weeks ago. Happy, happy!
