I live all the sweaters and the jeans, too. I'm envious that you found those v necks. I struggle finding great sweaters.

I'm not so sure about the maxi. It seems to swallow you up the bodice seems too voluminous. You mentioned you're short waisted so I suspect it's too long from your shoulder to your waist. Would it be worth having it altered?

Great finds on the sweaters! EF is one of my very favorites. I think the jeans look terrific on you...definitely keep!

I like maxi dresses and this one is pretty but to me it looks too big on you at the top. Could the shoulders maybe we raised or could it be taken in some?

Thanks Angie! Hooray for mushroom jeans that don't require another visit with the UPS guy! Late Summer when I want to go buy sweaters, remind me I already plugged this hole!

Dana, IKWYM. In the sea of sweaters last season, it was very hard to find V-necks.

Dana and Susie, I don't think it's worth it to me to have the maxi altered (beyond hemming). I do have the waist hiked way up (almost to my natural waist) so I don't walk all over it. My daughter is also short-waisted, and she drops the dress waist down to just over her hips. The top does look better when I do this. I'm going to wash it, which I was going to do pre-hemming anyway. We'll see if it shrinks a bit, and I'll try dropping the waist. If that doesn't do it, I think I'd get more pleasure out of it by giving it to my daughter.

Susie, everyone raves about EF pieces, but I'd never even tried one on. So happy I did! There was a pair of mushroom-colored side-zip ankle pants that I desperately wanted as well, but there was a cute 6" zipper on the back of the legs at the hem, which would have prevented hemming the pants for PPL. Reluctantly, I left them in the store.

I love #1, funny that you plugged a sweater hole in May (I think you are in ATL where it's probably getting quite warm already) - I do that, too, though. Off season buying (followed by forgetting as you mentioned to Angie, haha)

Glad the jeans worked out.

I agree with your approach on the maxi. Wash and see what happens.

I'm on the fence on the maxi dress. The print is pretty but I think it's a bit too much on your slim frame.

I really like the first two sweaters and their colors. The maxi does look a bit big on you. The trick with the belt really works – I use it often and it's amazing how much of a difference in body proportions it makes. My favorite rises are 7" to 8". 9" require commitment to wear with aplomb and special styling or the *belt trick.*

abc, it is a bit warm in Atlanta to be trying on sweaters! I know it's risky to buy something off-season...trends change, tastes change, needs change, etc, but most of what I buy (maxi excluded) is fairly classic. And yes, I always forget what I've bought since the buying season starts so long before I actually get to change out my closet for the next season. I left these in my active closet rather than packing them away. Hopefully I'll do better this year!

Zibbets and fastkat, this is my first maxi, so I'm really clueless. It's quite a departure for me and not something that will be part of my style. I will say though, that the long drive home from the beach was much more pleasant in the maxi than the jeans I wore on the trip down there.

As said already, the jeans look fab on you! Keepers for sure. I love the sweater selection, too, great finds! In regards of maxi dresses, I'm not the one to ask, but I think it has lovely colors and pattern.

Echoing the others in saying keep those pants in #5. The sweaters look good (especially fond of #1), though #2 if it's linen should be a summer sweater yes? The maxi really needs to be this great floor sweeping length you have here. If that requires hemming and you love the pattern, then it's worth doing. No shorter to my tastes though

I vote keep the jeans and wear them, too. I don't see any problem with the rise height on you. I'm short waisted and have preferred lower rises for the last few years, but I have been wearing slightly higher rises lately. Maybe you'll find it's more comfortable now than it was before, too.
Good strategy on the maxi--I imagine it will look good to wear the waist dropped, but it's nice that your daughter can make use of it if you decide it's not for you. It's a fun print that doesn't look too cutesy or whatever; I guess it strikes me as a fun yet sophisticated print.
Love the first two sweaters especially. The third one is a great color on you, but next to the others I don't find it as flattering. Is it a little boxier cut, or perhaps the fabric is not as drapey? Something about the length? Anyway, you're not going to wear them all next to each other the way we're seeing them here, so take this slight hesitation with a grain of salt.

Aida, unfortunately, even a linen sweater is way too heavy for an Atlanta summer. It'll be great for Nov/Dec though. Depending on the forecast, I would love to take it Europe with me next month.

Firecracker, I agree about sweater #3. It's a much chunkier and cozier casual sweater. Not nearly as refined in material nor cut/drape as the others. It will fill the casual hole for me though, I think.
