Since I'm pretty new to the community I might as well just confess now that I have a thing for what I call "quirky-creepy-cool" items of clothing and jewelry. Most especially things with skulls/skeletons, snakes and bugs.

Not to everyone's tastes, I know, but I have always loved the unique and weird and refuse to let go of that love just because I'm older (nor should I have to, imho). I honestly don't care if someone thinks it makes me look like I dress overly young for my age. I'm usually pretty good at combining elements in such a way that it doesn't skew *too* young (because my intention isn't to try and look like I'm trying to look younger than my age, it's just to not give up on being quirky with my fashion and continuing to take fashion risks.

That said, as a painful reminder that I'm not young anymore, I developed arthritis in my left foot over the last year or so and as such, have been forced to surrender/sell/donate some of my sky high heels for lower heel and flat options.

I was on the hunt for a cool pair of casual loafer type sneakers when I stumbled across these Tory Burch sneakers new in the box on ebay. (I knew she made a bag with this pattern and I own a pair of her scarab beetle velvet loafers but these were like kismet --I was looking for just the right casual loafer/sneaker and there they were). Apparently they are sold out everywhere online now and this was the only pair on ebay. So I sort of felt like it was karma telling me to buy the shoes before I regret it.

Score one for refusing to grow old gracefully. At least when it comes to my quirky and fun fashion choices.
