I had a really lovely vacation in Singapore. While I've been on a shopping fast all of September, the vacation was the exception and I could shop as much as I wanted.

Well, the good news is that I didn't shop very much! I just picked a few things I had on my list and didn't buy anything unnecessarily! Yay for that! I bought:

1) Dark wash denim shorts - GAP
2) Black heeled booties - Zara
3) Two pairs of thick ponte leggings for winter in navy blue and grey
4) 2 swimsuits, as I don't mind them in my size easily here in India.

My friend gifted me a very cute dress and a skirt (pic 6&7). The skirt is very cool because it comes with soft shorts attached inside! Very comfy....and hence I can wear it without a care (I usually wear shorts underneath my skirts so I can move and bend without worrying about flashing my underwear!)

Lastly, here is the dress my husband got for me from London.

I haven't styled the dresses yet, but I decided to click pictures as I tried them on anyways. I think they're both winners!

YLF, and there are some great finds here, although nr 3-4 would have be named thick, (ponte?) leggings where I live. Aren't tights having toes(aka opaques)? Love the dress hubby got it from London to you! Wow!

Oh. I love them. I especially love the booties and tights. They look much more substantial then I imagine tights to be. Perhaps I would call them leggings? If so, you should get a lot of use out of them. GREAT PURCHASES.

Wow. These are GREAT acquisitions! Those leggings are really neat; I'd love the blue ones for myself! I'm also rather addicted to skirted workout gear, too. It started with the black tennis skirt I bought on clearance a couple years ago; now that's all I want to wear when it's hot. #8 is just amazing.

Suz - my husband IS quite a great shopper. Some of my fabourite things are surprise gifts from him....though those are mostly bags, watches and shoes. This is the first time he's bought a dress! But I think he did very well

Thanks Angie. We LOVED Singapore! Amazing food, amazingly clean and such lovely polite people. We stayed with friends who live in a posh condo and we had access to a sexy pool with jacuzzi.....what's not to love!

Thanks Joy. I was not sure about the length of the dress. I thought maybe it needed to be a bit shorter to be flattering, but do like the slightly longer length as it becomes dressier and versatile. Glad to know the length is good on me!

Ginger - Zara makes one of the best leggings. They are called Shaping Leggings and are thick - perfect for giving a smooth, slim and trim look. And thick enough for winters. I already had them in black and wore them ALOT last winter. I will be happy to have 3 options this winter!

Thanks abc. Hehehe - the hat saved me! It was brutally hot and sunny. I would have had a migraine without the hat!

Best of luck finding the leggings, Ginger. Believe me, these leggings are true value for money. I don't shop Zara much otherwise. But I love their leggings (I've searched and searched and haven't yet found any other brand offering similar quality at that price). To be honest, I do like Zara winter wear collection.

I can't get beyond #8 --plonk! That dress is a keeper. Bombshell but in the best elegant, sophistocated way. The drape and length is what makes it so fab.
You've now got to create an outing for it!

Unfrumped & Brooklyn - I am so amazed that everyone loves the black dress. The first 2 people who saw it did NOT love it. "Too much cleavage" and "too long for you" is what I was told. And that made me had doubts....but my husband loves the dress. It's surely getting an outing soon!

Thanks Sally. Yes, the swimsuits are what make me happiest, honestly!!! I really have to hunt heaven and earth to buy them here in India and even then, may not find anything sometimes. The problem, as always, is my bust. We don't have swimsuits sold by cup-size and while my body could fit a size M probably, my boobs struggle to stay contained even within size XL! Plus most designs don't offer sufficient coverage even as the size increases. What's worse - as size increases, so does the torso length!!! Almost like the brand expects you to be 'taller' if you are a bigger size!!! I've had to literally create tiny folds in my swimsuits to make the crotch fit where it should! ( too much fabric between bust and crotch, as the bigger sizes are designed to fit taller, longer women). The Zoggs swimsuits I bought fit perfectly! Such a relief!

I hate shopping for bathing suits. My problem is coverage. I must be incredibly shy because so many of the suit I try on expose so much skin. I do understand the concept and why suits may be cut a certain way, but I personally feel so exposed. For a while, I actually avoided going to the beach because I just didn't know how to do it.

I was in Heaven when I finally discovered tankinis. Not very sexy and sometimes I am the most-covered up on the beach. Other times people are swimming in shorts and actual tee shirts so it seems to be a mixed bag. Beaches vary so much. It is like there is a subculture there and it can actually change from day to night.
