The style doesn't seem "old lady" to me and I also think they look great with the skirt.

Ladies I so appreciate ALL your thoughts and Angie thank you so much for chiming in here. With such mixed opinions I was truly hoping you would:). In a state of utter confusion last night I took some more photos, just of the shoes, and reassessed the color. They are a little warmer in color than usual for me BUT they are not throwing yellow IRL. The catalogue photo #3 is a more accurate representation of the actual color, so I think the lighting has not represented the color well. I will try them again today and make a final decision. I am considering now returning the black and trying the blue grey.

Shannon in answer to your question, yesterday when I tried them on in the store and at home, I loved them, however the mixed opinions have swayed me a little. I love the shoe, I just need to be sure of the color:)

Thank you SO much for your patience and help with these. xxxDeborah

I only just saw this, Deborah, but wanted to say that the light colour looks brilliant in all the ways you have styled the shoes. I think the black might be a bit harsh and am very much loving the sound of the blue grey. Keep us posted?

I actually love them in both colors! The black looks very modern and striking. And if the color is not as yellow IRL, then they should bookend your pretty hair. I've never heard of the perforated-old lady connection before...

Rae and Inge, thank you!

Rae I think some of these associations are cultural or social:). In Australia, many senior ladies wear perforated sandals in summer. They tend to be very "sensible" shoes and while very suitable for older ladies, not particularly stylish:)
