WIB: EF Jersey Midi Skirt ETA: New pictures

I wore a long olive green skirt the other day with my metallic grey leather jacket. It occurred to me that a grey skirt would look nice with it. I was excited to see EF had a grey A-line skirt with a nice drape. So I ordered it, even though it wasn't on sale. I ordered the lighter color. But I have an EF dress, in light grey with a handkerchief hem. I'm sure the jacket will look nice with the dress. I hadn't put them together because the jacket was too tight for awhile. The model for the skirt must be about 6'5", because the skirt comes nearly to my ankles, and I'm 5'6". Also, it is quite a bit darker than the dress, even they are both "ash". Maybe they sent the wrong color (the package says ash)? If they did, do you think the color is good overall? I think the color looks good with the jacket. Do you think I should keep it?

I think the length on the model usually looks awkward in real life. I like your longer version better. The question is whether you want to wear a longer skirt. The length of the dress, although uneven, looks good.

Well, I guess I'm not much help, but I do love that beautiful jacket.

May I suggest a proper styling session with the skirt to ensure that it is not orphaned, Janet. It has potential.

Hmm...I have 3pieces of EF in "ash". They are all a sort of medium grey, most like the way photos 2 and 4 appear on my screen. I think the skirt looks great with your jacket from what I can see. I agree with Angie. Work with making outfits and photograph them.
One of my ash pieces is a shorter linen skirt for summer. I like it with white.

I like the longer length myself. They do all sorts of things to clothing when they are photographing them. Pin the back to make the jacket tighter, roll the skirt up, this and that. Or maybe the model is really tall. Gorgeous jacket. Try the styling session for the skirt.

Actually I like photo 1 best, with the olive pleated skirt you already have. And you can wear the jacket with the dress you already have. I feel there is a risk you may not wear the new skirt enough with the jacket to make the full price worthwhile. The colours are pretty similar ( of jacket and new skirt) so that depends if you want that "column of colour" thing happening or not. I'm not sure I would, not my style, but it may be yours.

Thank you for your suggestions, especially to style the skirt. Joy, I think they sent the wrong color! This has to be charcoal, not ash.

Here are some pictures of my EF dress with the metallic leather jacket and knee high grey boots, the jacket with the EF skirt and the boots, and the skirt with a warmer weather top and clog sandals.

What do you think? Should I keep it? Should I try to get the lighter color?

I like the skirt with your jacket and the summer version too, but if you are unsure you should return it and find something you love. That jacket is a real treasure. I also love the tee in #3 with the skirt. If you enjoy a skirt in the summer this one might be ideal.

Not until you added the second set of photos did I like this skirt. I see the length as perfect for you. It DOES look better where it falls on you than where it falls on the model. Than metallic jacket is fabulous, and I also love your pleated olive skirt!!!!! Any details to share on those two items?

Gorgeous jacket! I do like this color with it. I like the lighter dress too but if your skirt was the same color then they might be too similar.

Thanks, Joy. I was unsure which color skirt to order in the first place. I'm sure this one is charcoal, but if you think it works for warm weather, then I'm fine with it.

Bennett, thanks. I bought the jacket from Nordstrom a few years ago (Classiques Entier). I haven't worn it much because it got too tight. The olive skirt is several years old too, from Coldwater Creek.

Angie, thanks. Was the jacket okay with the olive skirt? I'm not sure if I want to keep the skirt. I'm thinking a denim skirt might fill the bill better.
