Hi friends, I have a chance to visit the downtown Toronto Simon's store ( coincidentally had it planned already for the week of Angie's department store post!). I'll have to do a more full some review at some point, but I have a question about jeans. I tried a pair that I really loved, they were comfortable, the style I was looking for, and a good price point. BUT they were a midrise on me and I had a fit dilemma:

- the smaller size fit perfectly but I have a little side-waist spillage ... Weirdly I have a bit of gap at the back so they weren't tight at all, so I chalked this up to the rise. It didn't show up much with the top on so I debated living with it.

- the next size up there was no spillage but they were way too big in the hip and upper thigh and looked terrible. This was a no go for sure.

I think the waist problem would be fixed in the rise was higher ... But the issue with a higher rise is that on my short waist it would be almost at my rib cage! The proportion becomes problematic.

So my question is ... Do I have to trade off between these too annoyances and decide what I can live with? Or were the jeans just wrong? I looked online and the suggestion was I might need a curvier fit but with my straight hips and thighs that's definitely not the solution *facepalm*

Appreciate the collective wisdom! Here is a fitting room photo of the jeans in question with my successful purchase, a short sleeve knit in my favourite shade of red. Xx
