WIB - Trying on the Frank & Oak jeans

Hiya, my Frank & Oak jeans just arrived - I think I really like them! They are straight and loose enough to feel current, and structured enough to feel like my style. The light wash, which I thought would feel too "colouful" actually feels quite neutral to me, too.

I sized snug on the waist - they are not tight at all but they fit - because I often choose the slightly looser waist size and then once I've worn them a few times they are falling off - does this sound reasonable? If so - then I think I've found my new jeans - what do you think fabbers?

Also, I don't think I'll shorten them - they work full length with a heel, and then I can cuff or roll for flats ...?

Hmmm how can I not know this brand?
I really like them, I think they fit great, just enough baggy/slouchy but not sloppy or oversized
And I agree I would not hem, you can cuff or wear full length to give you increased flexibility

Love it, Helena! My favorite is the last one with jeans pooling at the bottom. Looks very current to me.

I used to buy from Frank and Oak, from their store at Eaton’s. Haven’t been there for ages and I should go. I bought a cotton shirt dress and a wool mix short jacket, jewelry from them. Quality is good, their style is trendy but prices are in mid range.

Irina, I think I had ignored them in the past because I thought they'd be way too expensive ... but you're right, it's not ridiculous, esp. for something like jeans that I get my money's worth out of. Glad to know you've found the quality good too! I feel they are made to last *crosses fingers*

Love the deep cuff and the oversized (at least to my eye) rear pockets. Very current!

I like them! I haven't bought from Frank & Oak but they do have stores out here and I should give them a more serious look. The fit on these looks good as long as you are comfy in the waist. (They do not look tight there, but it can be hard to tell!) In any case, I agree with not going over large. Especially if they are all cotton, they would bag out.

Leave the length for now and see how you feel when spring arrives. At that point you might want to crop or you might not!

Thanks all!! Lisa, there are only a few locations in Toronto area so limited in store shopping I guess ... But their returns policy looks pretty good!

I think you have found your jeans! I prefer them cuffed and full length, but rolled is good too.

They are a nice jean and I think you would get lots of use from them. I agree with you on the points you outlined. I have the same issue with jeans, I buy what I feel is comfortable but they often end up feeling loose.

Jeans look fab on you! I’ve never heard of this brand—hope they work out for you. I used to always size down because otherwise I’d almost always end up with saggy butt, but these days I cannot stand anything tight. (These do NOT look tight on your waist.)

The jeans look great! I bought a turtleneck from them a few years ago from the store in Montreal. I like their clothing.

Not sure how to advise you on the waist. Don't like the sound of them falling off after a few days. Do you need to try a size down too?

Those look great on you Helena, I think if there’s some elastane in the fabric you’ll have some play at the waist.
I agree that there’s no need to shorten the length, they work well both long and cuffed. I find it a bit of styling challenge with some of the looser fits, but yours seem just the right amount of looseness.

Re the waist ... I confident it's good ... I was more worried it would be tight, but I wore around for a while yesterday before detagging and they are comfortable. I don't think they'll stretch enough to get too loose and a size down would be squeezey Thanks for the feedback! I'll continue wearing full length or with the wide cuff as the shoe calls for!

I would be surprised if you didn't end up relying on these heavily. They look so good, will be versatile, and you might end up loving the extra room in the legs. Love the light wash. I bought a similarly shaped pair of jeans recently and now I have to force myself to wear anything else!
