I noticed that in today's featured blogger's most recent post, this dress was one of the ones featured. It doesn't look like much in the stock photo IMHO, but I saw it in store and tried it on, and it came home with me.
I don typically do well with straight-cut or shift dresses, but a few details make this JFE for me -- the strong vertical lines in the pattern, the very lightweight fabric, which allows for lots of flow and movement, the side slits, and the slight shaping provided by darts at the bust.
It's a really nice dress for casual-to-slightly dressy wear for hot climates and women who are tall or want some leg coverage without being a full maxi.
Tags are still on and I haven't worn it yet, but we're about to have another burst of hot weather in the next few days, so I think my wearing opportunities are coming.
Feedback welcome!
PS. I also tried on this green dress, and it was SO close to working, but the top simply had too much fabric and it overwhelmed my top half. I knew that sizing down would not work because then it wouldn't fit in the hips. But for someone who is tall and maybe more of an IT, it may work well.
