Others on the forum share my name or a version of it. I had chosen Joy for a bookish site that I used to participate in because it was short to type, so kept it for YLF too.

I've had a particular online moniker since the 90s, but sometimes, I'd rather be more anonymous. I thought Annie Mouse kinda sounds like anonymous.

I'm from Nebraska, where we are known as Nebraskans. So Nebraskim was kind of a play on words.

Fun stories! I chose Jeanie because when I was little I used to Watch 'I Dream of Jeannie'. Watching Barbara Eden in her mod little dresses and, of course, her Jeannie costume was one of my first fashion memories. I wanted to have magical powers and fab clothes. I never got the magical powers but I bought a lot of clothes!

Lantana is the yellow flowering plant in my photo and the name of a classic Aussie movie. It's also a wretched environmental weed in some parts of Oz, which is ironic since my avocation is native revegetation.
I plan to change eventually to my own name, Penelope, and occasionally sign off these days as Penny so the changeover will be seamless.

I chose retail girl because it has been my career for 43 years! I first signed up, ( after lurking for two or more years) to comment when Rae first went to work for nordstrom. I am not very tech savvy, so it may be a while before you ever see a WIW from me, but I love this site and check it daily!
