Yesterday my boss gave a me hug. Which is very surprising. To thank me for my hard work. She said she's been going through a rough spot.
So I got up extra early to go to Pike's Place Market to get her some flowers, this gorgeous bouquet was only $10.
I also got a dozen pain au chocolat for my coworkers from Le Panier.

So sweet of you! That is one of my favorite things about Pike Place and makes me wish I still lived closer. I hardly ever get over there anymore. When I got married we were on a budget and decided that one way I'd keep the costs down was by going to the market the day before the wedding and buying up heaps and heaps of gorgeous bouquets like this (and lots of Calla Lillies, it was June and they were everywhere). It was perfect!

I'm sure your boss and coworkers were quite pleased with your thoughtfulness!

I don't miss the weather in Seattle but I do miss Pike's place. Such a great place for flowers and other farm fresh goods!

I was amazed at how reasonable and beautiful the flowers were at the market when we were there in Seattle recently. Something like that would be way more expensive where I live.
I think I would keep bouquets in every room if I lived there!

It sounds like your boss appreciates you a lot, and what a lovely way to reciprocate! The bouquet reminds me of my wedding bouquet; it had purple irises along with an assortment of pink and white flowers.

i have to say i love this on a style forum, as to me personal style goes so far beyond what a person wears. It's gestures like this one - taking the time to listen to the people around you, think about what might brighten their day, and taking the time and effort out of your morning to follow through - that show a person has real, timeless, gorgeous style.

Flowers were much appreciated. The bouquet had bachelor's buttons in it, which turned out to be her favorite flower.
I was also told not to bring chocolate again, because the pain au chocolat's were too good. Ha!

Oh wow that's a gorgeous bouquet, what a pick! Very northwestern wildflowers in spring. (It has lupine!! I love those, don't see them in standard bouquets though. Gotta hit up the farmer's markets for 'em.) What a wonderful gesture, I know your boss and coworkers will appreciate your thoughtfulness. I wish Pike Place wasn't a pain to get to from Everett, I adore the market; we have a lot of smaller farmer's markets out here (along with direct farm storefronts) but many aren't open year-round. Still, I try to keep flowers in the house all the time. Being closer to Pike Place would certainly make my options more fun and be less expensive ^^

(As an aside, I actually read this post just after waking up. My sleep addled brain, upon reading just the title, thought 'oh noooo she was too traumatized by yesterday's events to go out today'. Silly me! My asleep brain is totally useless, seriously.)
