Ha! I totally get what you say. For me it's usually due to me neglecting my hair too long where it's totally out of shape (ahem, like now). Then if I finally get it cut its like "oh, you look nice (because you don't look like a mess anymore).

More logical thinking, I do believe there are people out there that have to comment when seeing a new haircut. Probably just overthinking on my part...

Yes! Just when my hair is overly long and I have a trim scheduled, everyone decides that they love it.

And every time I've gotten a haircut, women always say, it looks nice, I love it, etc., but men usually just say, oh, you got a haircut. But it is true that your hair looks it's best when you go,for a cut! I sit in that chair and look in the mirror and think, this isn't bad! Maybe I should cancel this appointment!

It's Murphy at work. My hair always looks great the day before a scheduled cut. Go figure!

It doesn't really...it's just your perception being skewed by fear of change. Whenever we approach change there is that little voice:

Maybe I shouldn't change.
What I have now isn't so bad.
Maybe I should just stay here.
Maybe I won't like the change.

The Haircut Phenomenon. It should be taught in all psych classes.

I've solved that problem by having a pixie cut for the last 20 years. You could always go that route...

Still a mystery to me, but it just shows that you can be quite versatile and adept with various hair lengths. Do what you like and don't let the compliments or comments sway you.

Ditto. I have an appointment on Saturday and my hair is growing out and looks horrible. Of course the day I go in, my hair dresser always tells my how good it looks. I don't know what to think.

...every month, about a day or two before my haircut, someone compliments my hair, and it's usually on the morning when I think it looks like @#$$##@@$%!
