Hmm, it was the designer who was quote as saying they're at a "fantastic price point". At least I can understand designer a little bit for having their head out in la-la land.

What a joke!! Fantastic price point means different things to different people, obv, but I don't see how this would be "fantastic" to any who isn't living in a fantasy world!!

Haha, ok, so it's net-a-porter who's hanging out in la-la land.

The thing I've noticed is that these price points aren't even real. I see 20% off sales, gift cards for purchasing $x and constant coupons at all the major department stores - even the high end ones.

The markup on fashion is crazy, I understand. So something that is a fantastic price point probably manufactures for $40.

Puh-lease! That's more than I have to spend on clothes for an entire year! I sure would get tired of wearing that sweater every day. :/ Lest I feel sorry for myself, I drove downtown yesterday going a new way and passed through a very poor and depressed area where many, many people were pushing all their earthly belongings in shopping carts. I have so much compared to them. But I stay away from those blogs that make me *want*. Helps me see my glass as half-full.

This reminds me of a certain insurance commercial where they're touting your savings at around $500 and the woman customer says "Wow, that's a new pair of shoes."

Yeah, your average person looking to budget shop on their insurance pays several hundred dollars for shoes. Riiiiight.

Wow. At least it's a cute sweater. To me, some of the really expensive clothes aren't even that attractive.

I feel like i see this a lot when reading fashion or travel stories (because we can all afford to go to Portugal for a long weekend and stay at a 5-star hotel). I know there are people out there who can afford this and may even call it a "reasonable price point", but the average person would look at the price and just laugh.

It IS a cute sweater. But I have to say, $635 for a cotton jumper is just plain embarrassing. There's a point, I think, one has to have some self-respect.
