Winter is hard ... SO TRUE! And January, for me, is the hardest month. I don't hate winter but it is so easy to feel slothful, overly introverted, and sad. It can be like a long stretch of PMS. On the other hand, on some days the cold weather feels great -- bracing and energizing. It's unpredictable.
Dimity, you are so right. I always feel better just seeing the calendar turn to February.
Meredith, Lisa, Jeanie ... maybe it is a survivalist/stress thing ... but it just feels like laziness and boredom to me. If all I am doing is laying around and reading or watching TV, it's just so easy to reach for toast. As citygirl said, it's readily available!
Suz, I think the only thing that would have made me feel worse would have been a hot dog!!! haha!! Or maybe one of Shipskitty's frog cakes.
Summer (so aptly named): This amount of snow is unusual. And it's exciting for all of us, at least at first. We love watching it fall and at the beginning, snuggling in for a family movie is really fun. But after 24 hours of that, and no chance of hitting the road, cabin fever sets in and it can get a little crazy-making. Hence the "what can we bake?" questions. Shoveling does help with vitamin D (L'Abeille) and energy, but it's hard work with that much snow.
Today feels like a much more normal day, thank goodness. But we've got more wintry weather coming tonight. Meredith and Kiwigal: I'm going to load up on salad makings! (Not sure I am totally ready to give up carbs, Carter, but when I am I will click on those links haha.)
