Soobee, I'm so glad you embarked on the journey of caring for yourself through clothing your body with love. And it certainly shows in the fab looks we are seeing. And of course there's no need to spend a fortune in doing so, either! There is a middle ground and the joy is worth it, as you imply.
Isabel, glad you love it too! I did a quick feel in the mall of bags in a chainstore bag shop. I never go there because the vibe puts me off. All the more fab bags were pleather and the leather ones were meh according to my tastes. It does seem like the more you want squee-worthy design coupled with quality leather and work, the steeper the prices, and that's not even looking at designer bags. The thing is, if you have to save up for a mid-range item (like Coach or equivalent - Oroton is ours), it doesn't seem like that great a leap to keep on saving up for contemporary designer. I can see why expensive bags are selling well when bags that are a step below are still already expensive.
And yeah, I can feel my inner bag snob rearing its head already LOL Not saying I'll take that leap into expensive, but my simple pleasure in lower quality bags has been sorely compromised even at this early stage!
Angie posted on the blog about pattern mixing recently and there was a zebra print bag in her post. Worth a look for you?
