Who else is shopping their closet for now?

I'm probably testing fate and temptation by posting this but here goes... I need to take a shopping break. My budget tells me I need to find money for orthodontic work for 2 of my sons... add a bathroom onto the house... redo a couple of rooms... insulate and dry wall hubby's shop... you get the idea. My spring and summer wardrobe is in decent shape already and summer is our least dominant season here in the Great North Wet, so now is a bad time for me to shop anyway.

I'm not sure how long it will last. I'm betting I'll get back to shopping my budget by fall.

Please tell me I'm not alone.

We too have 2nd child Orthodontics about to start, and I have shopped my 'budget' till June

Shopping closet since December 1 ( with the exception of new u-wear last week). I'm working on being retired in 2 years, and I want to be a stylish retiree! I'm sorting through my existing wardrobe, and trying to hone in on my true style. Once I start shopping again, the new purchases will have to fit my current life, but also transition into the one I'll be living in the future. I also want to own less clothes, but better quality ones.

I thought I had a little bit to play with but taking care of my father for 2 1/2 months decimated my funds.

In a word, me. I do need some t-shirts for spring though. And I think that SYC for me means "lazy and also doesn't want to deal."

I just dug out my spring and summer clothes as we are going on a warm vacation in April.

I tried everything on and am pleasantly pleased with my wardrobe. A few holes but it all feels brand new

I'd join you but every time I try to SYC I go crazy. I'm just going to sit on the sidelines and watch. My spring/summer is in pretty good shape--pretty soon it will just be shorts and tank tops anyway. Good luck, Brenda!

Not alone! I have a replacement for my 6 or 7 year old black boots on order and a few pair of jeans that are also ordered but not arrived and after that I think it is it for a while for me. We have quite a bit of tree work to have done after the recent ice storm and garage doors that need to be replaced and ....

I am still in need of some S/S items because I had my second DS last May, so I didn't do too much to update my wardrobe last year. I hear ya on more responsibilities, less money for fun though. We have a lot going on too, double mortgage payments, 2 starting daycare in a couple months, and then there's always the odd "surprise" thrown in. We get extras here and there though, and then I usually get to have a bit of shopping fun. But yes, I think after I pick up a few more shorts and maybe 2-3 tops I will be done until Fall.

I am, I'm still sorting out what I need. Also paralyzed by fear of making wrong choices :). Do gifts or returning gifts count? Is that lucky found money or should it count?

I am definitely doing SYC for bags and transitional shoes. As for the rest, I have put my Spring wardrobe on a spreadsheet and the only thing I would really like to add is a pair of white jeans. I have plenty to get me through otherwise.

I'm gonna SMC for a bit. Not to necessarily to hold off on purchases but rather to figure out where any holes may be. I don't forsee any major additions. A pair of sandals and a neutral belt are the two things I've identified.

I am in, mostly because I am actively trying to change my size (down) although I do have to remind myself about that when browsing the shops! so SYC for me

Me too, taking a shopping break for 8 weeks (1 down, 7 to go!) eBay is my weakness. I was ordering too many things that weren't quite right and then having to send them straight to the charity shop. I also felt like I was doing nothing but trawling the shops and websites and coming up with stuff that was merely okay. I've got enough autumn/winter/cold spring wear to be getting on with (not as much as I'd like, but enough to see me through), so I'm taking a shopping break until 29th April when I can start looking at sundresses and sandals. I've given myself a safety net, though: my underwear is also getting a bit old, so if I get desperate to shop, I can buy a couple of new bras and knickers.
