Who else gets all tingly looking into their closets?

Before YLF, I had an extensive collection of the most boring, uninspired clothes on Earth.

These days, I open the closet door and I LOVE most everything I see. With the pruning of old, unworn clothes, I can better see what I have, and what I see are awesome boots and fun colors and silhouettes I'd never have considered before. I cannot wait for fall to pull out all of my fun things and start layering again. Fun with fashion? I think so!

Now, you don't have to get tingly exactly, but who else feels immense satisfaction looking in their closets?

I totally do, Beth! I think you know your wardrobe is in a good place when you get excited just looking at it. Sometimes if I am feeling stressed out, I go take a peek- it helps me calm down.

More than I would ever care to admit. Some women have chocolate, I have my closet. (Oh and food and wine.)

It kills me any time I have to move and dismantle my oasis. Closets are the easiest thing to keep organized for me because no one goes in there to mess it up, so it is very zen and relaxing for me. Having to pack that up is stressful.

Okay, I sound really weird...

Yes, it feel so good to look at a closet full of stuff you enjoy!
I get more tingly though when the UPS guy pulls up in front of my house.

Oh Yes! It has taken me a long time and a lot of money to get there but I finally feel like I am in a good place with my clothes. I read somewhere that your closet should be a guilt free zone. This has guided my many waves of closet purges. I got rid of anything that I didn't like, wasn't quite right, didn't fit or wasn't in perfect shape. In the past I would have held on to all that stuff just in case.

HAHAHA Beth, that is so funny, but true. I love looking in my closet! I think that's part of why I've got everything organized by colour and on matching hangers. It makes me happy to see neatly arranged, ironed, much-loved clothes in there (and let's not forget the footwear). But for me it wasn't YLF that inspired the "fun with fashion". I was on my way before. Pulling myself together after a dreadful bout of postnatal depression with my second baby was what got me into redefining my personal appearance. However, YLF keeps me interested -- or is it a chicken-and-egg sort of thing? I read YLF, I get new ideas, I occasionally add to my closet, and I check YLF some more! It's addictive.

I read somewhere that a good closet is like arriving at a party where ALL the guests are your favourite people. I do feel that way about my jewelry-making supplies. Sometimes I just sit and LOOK at my stash of awesomely sparkly beads and I feel all tingly.

Well my closet is pretty much exploding but i do enjoy the things that are inside it. But to be fair my current closet is super small. Walk in (10x10 baby!) is in the process of being built!

Seriously, I still stand in front of my closet in the morning thinking hard "what should I wear" -not because there is no good stuff there but because almost all of it is good and I have hard time deciding...

MPJ, I'm definitely not "wow." If I'm honest, I'm "occasionally interesting" and that's mostly by chance. But it's forward progression. You've been an inspiration more than once...are we not leather jacket twins?!

Now, what about that shudder of dissatisfaction? What needs to be addressed to increase your Tingle-Meter?

I do, as long as
a.) my closet is in order
b.) I've recently purged things, either by consignment, charitable donation or sister hand-me-down
c.) there are a few new goodies in there that make me smile

Embarrassing to admit that sometimes those "new goodies" are organizational tools rather than clothing. (Am I the only one who can get tingly over new *hangers*?)

Haha! Getting there! My new goal ... not just an organised, functional closet but a 'tingly' closet!!! Off to do some purging.

I do get tingly when I get a new piece which I love and can't wait to wear. I hope to get to the full on wardrobe tingle at some point.
I have to admit that because my wardrobe is in front of my bed, I leave the wardrobe door open at night so that when I'm lying in bed I can look at it and think about ways I can wear the pieces I already have. Little wierd I know but I think it's helping me use things in different ways.

I definitely get tingly! Although I have to say it's as much because of the newly-redone closet itself as because of the contents! But the contents are getting better all the time, too!
