I was interested in getting one but never found the ONE and now I have lost interest a bit. I do not know the rules for what to look for in length, lapel type, number of button, etc, for my body type. If the right one showed up I'd still be interested. I would like one that is more casual and less tuxedo.

Louise, I think you'd look FABULOUS in a BF blazer - possibly a style on the longer side. Please try the look for me when the opportunity arises. So sweet over your frocks both belted and unstructured. You of ALL lasses should be trying this trend.

I've been wearing what I think is a version of the boyfirend blazer, at least it's a long black blazer with the sleeves rolled. I also have been wearing one in dark navy. I'll attempt photos tomorrow

I LOVE the idea of them, the edgy masculine style, this all suits me, but when I try them on, I just look like I'm a kid dressing up in my father's clothes. They swamp me, even the smallest sizes.

I'm not sure why, perhaps it's just because I'm short and very slight in the shoulders, but I can't find one that looks in proportion.

Funny you should ask. After looking and looking and not finding the right cut, I ran across a longer-length black boyfriend jacket yesterday morning at my local Wal-Mart for $20. I tried it, I liked it, I brought it home -- and I still liked it. Very unexpected. And it truly does not look cheap. I also bought a grey/black/cream leopard-ish print faux Norma Kamali wrap dress for $15. I'll wear that with boots and perhaps the boyfriend jacket or a cardi. I MUST get back in picture taking mode. It's going to take better planning on my part to mesh schedules with my busy 17-yr old-photog. Can't wait to see everyone's photos.

Hi Angie,
I have thought about boyfriend blazers(also as I look for a tuxedo blazer for the holidays) but had decided against it for now.First I am trying to cut back on spending on myself for a bit, atleast until after the holidays Second, I had my hair cut into a pixie over the summer and I have been trying to work with more feminine clothes to counterbalance. I guess I am concerned the boyfriend jacket may be too masculine for my overall style.But I'll keep checking the out,That Express blazer looks great

I would love one if I could find the *right* jacket that is reasonably priced. Since it's a trendier item, I don't want to spend a lot. I'm thinking I'd like navy rather than black. I also have a strong shoulder line and narrow hips, so I don't want to look like a linebacker. :o)

I've been vaguely interested in the boyfriend blazer, but not enough to go seriously hunt for one. Sometimes I feel a blazer is too structured for me! But I like how they look on others.

I have a tux-style jacket (black, single button, satin shawl collar, shoulder pads) from the '80s that I've been wondering whether would work as a boyfriend blazer. Hm...

Maybe I'm remembering this incorrectly, but I thought that the boyfriend blazer was mainly recommended for straighter figures. If that's not the case, are there any brands or styles to look for that you've seen curvy or fuller-framed clients wear successfully?

Kari, Vani is pretty curvy and she looked positively killer in a bf blazer she found at Marshalls (I think it was Tulle). I tried one on at H&M that I LOVED. Would have bought it on the spot if my finances were in better shape. I have found some variation in bf blazers. Some are a bit more fitted and others are a bit slouchier. I like the look of both but I think the fitted ones are probably more flattering on our body type.

I like the look but don't want to go and buy one as there just won't be enough occassions for me to wear it. I have a longer length suit jacket which I thought might work, but looking at the lenghts in peoples posts it might not be right.
