White Purse for Fall/Winter???

I am all for wearing white pants and am even itching to do a look I saw on Pinterest with my white lace dress and black or brown tights, but was curious if wearing a white purse is somethng to embrace????

Why not? I'd use the guidelines for other white items and make sure it's not too summery (ie not straw, woven or linen which might be too beachy) I would love a white suede bag. Mmm..

I have a white clutch that I carry in the winter - it doesn't look summery at all so I think it's fine.

i've worn a white shoulder bag over the s/s and continued into f/w until yesterday in fact. i switched out only because i was traveling and didn't match my color capsule.

I am carrying a pearl- colored shoulder bag that was intended for not- winter, but I haven't found another color or metallic I like for winter. In amazed at how well it seems to go-- it is great contrast with all my fall colors. For me I like this slightly off white but that would just be a choice. White or cream suede sounds luscious but I'm leery of it for regular use.

I have a white clutch that I plan to continue wearing into winter, along with a white leather bucket bag that I do NOT plan to wear into winter. The clutch feels all season as its design is simple, but the bucket bag has a summery look with a boho vibe. It could just be that my boho side comes out more in summer so therefore the bag seems like a summer bag to me, though. I think as long as the construction is solid (and probably something in a heavier weight) so that it looks like it could stand up to winter, you'd be just fine with a white bag.

I think it all depend on how the outfit and outerwear is put together. White bags can go beautifully in the winter months or be jarringly out of place, depending on other aspects of the combination.

I like what Aida said, underscored by Angie's style.

I always thought of white handbags as summer only and so I never tried to look beyond color, to other elements of style and construction.

For what I call my regular bag, for errands and shopping, I really don't want to be changing very often. After getting my pearl (oyster) -colored bag, and seeing how well it played off my darker clothing, I had an ahal moment--I had been way too focused on black bags, or maybe grays or burgundy for contrast, and of course, cognac (haven't found "the one") but really, the much lighter colors are more interesting with my outfits.

So now I am keeping my eyes open for lighter-colored bags that still somehow to me read well with a wintry vibe and winter clothing. These " winterizing" features don't have to be the same for you-- I think that's just personal sugar eyes for this or that, but it's a new approach that I'm looking forward to.
