White or Cream: So Many Breton and Nautical Stripes

With this tee in abundance these days, do you have a preference for white or cream as the alternating color to blues, reds, etc.? Just wondering here if one background color is more sea-worthy in usage and style or does it come down to one's coloring and personal choice?

Hmmm. I like stripes with high colour contrast - with a colour (or black) AND white/cream. Or an emerald and navy stripe. The stripes must be graphic in order for me to like them for myself and my own style. But I can appreciate other types of stripes for other style personas.

I think it's a personal choice - like most patterns are. I do not prefer stripes that look like mattresses (ticky stripes).

And gangster pinstripes always hold a special place in my heart.

I like a light cream. But really, when I was shopping for my Breton stripe top it was more important to get exactly the right piece, that fit exactly right, and if it had been white instead of off-white that would have been okay with me, too!

I would say cream probably looks better on me, Amy. I just didn't know if that would be limiting in any way (pairing with white is out and would be off in some way). Yes, I think it truly gets back to cut and quality of the shirt.

I've been timidly pairing cream with white. I think it's like mixing black and brown. Get whichever is the better shirt and mix away!
