Yesterday I stopped at Nordstrom Rack to pick up and online Nordy’s order (both items were thoroughly underwhelming and got immediately returned), and cruised through the shoe department.

I tried on a bunch of slingbacks since they are trending, but they were either uncomfortable or too dressy/ladylike for the look I’m after.

However, I saw these Franco Sarto Viola mules and tried them on in black and in the off-white color. Black is an easy default for me, but I decided to try the light ones instead, as they seem a bit more on-trend and also low-contrast with my legs as I start to wear more cropped and rolled pants in spring.

They seem to stay on my foot well, and I think they’ll be wearable as a nice spring-into-summer shoe that is casual enough but elevates a look a bit more than sneakers. I don’t typically spend much on shoulder-season footwear because those seasons are short here, and I tend to go towards either boots or sandals with not much in between. So the sale price of $60 is quite appealing.

I’ll try them on today around the house and report back later. I did order these other slingback flats (Amalfi Gelso) to try, so I should have those in a couple of days.
