White jeans question

What is the best silhouette for white jeans? I don't want skinnies but am wondering what is most flattering for someone of my shape and size and the most versatile: bootcut, straight leg, sized up skinnies for slouchy look, white BF's???

Shannon, I own two pair of white jeans. Both are Paige and I have one pair of straight legs and one pair of bootcuts.

I've found that white denim is sized a little larger than regular denim, so they end up looser without having to size up.

I have a bootcut pair and I just bought the AG Stilt skinnies that Angie has and recommends (and I love them!). I'd say that the best shape is the one that you wear the most and makes you feel happiest in. I like the bootcuts, but I love skinnies, so the AG skinnies are my favorite.

I had to size up on my AG skinnies, but not on my Gap bootcuts. However, I definitely say that you should lean toward slightly too loose versus too tight. I am on team fitted and always go for slightly tight over slightly loose on denim, other than white. Any tightness with white denim is very unflattering.

I have a pair of joe's petite provocateur-boot legs and a pair of old navy skinnies.The bootcuts are very summer versatile with summer footwear in my opinion.

Frankly, skinnies. I have had widelegs / bootcuts and the hems were a disaster. I think straight legs are a good alternative too, but as not as versatile with different heel heights.

You can still look for a pair of skinnies, in a more relaxed fit.

I would say straight legs -- cropped just a bit to the ankle to avoid the hem issues. If it feels odd you can always cuff them. I'm a little partial to ankles for spring and summer.

I have two pairs of white Jag jeans, one a narrow bootcut and the other a stright leg. I prefer the straight leg because when they stretch, the bootcut's hem tends to drag on my shorter leg. Also, the straight leg allows for more variety in footwear.

I'm not very fond of boot cuts, so I would recommend a straight leg. They are super versatile, in my opinion. I think it is a silhouette that would suit you very well, shannon!

I have skinnies and bootcuts. For me, personally, the bootcuts are more flattering. Skinnies or even straight legs make me feel more exposed in white, so any less than svelte areas feel emphasized or highlighted, if that makes sense. If I was going to go the skinny or straight route I would definitely opt for a roomier vs tighter fit.

I'd go for straight legs - I love mine after years of having them. I also think they would be the more flattering. I do roll mine sometimes or other times just scrunch (depends on the shoes I wear).

I prefer straight legs for white jeans too. They just seem to be a better look on my shape and are more forgiving of the softer spots.

Personally I like white straight legs best. And I used to wear white bootcuts but they are shot. I also love my white skinnies.

I have white/cream jeans in all possible cuts (skinnies, straights, bootcuts, flare and trouser) and I find that I wear straight ones the most (they are also a size too big so the fit is quite loose) and looser skinnies second. I wear bootcuts and wider leg openings with heels which limits the amount of wear they get.

So, I would also vote for straight legs for you Shannon.

Shannon are you not happy with your existing white straight legs? I am interested in your thoughts because I think I have only worn mine about 3 times and am wondering about having them slimmed to more like a skinny leg. I think my preference for your would be straight leg in a white jean:)

Deborah - oh I am still happy with my existing straight leg jeans but they are looking a bit tired and I'd like a pair that are a bit more substantial in fabric. But I did really like the silhouette of the straight leg.

Now it will be a matter of finding the right fit of straight leg. Any brand recommendations anyone?

Shannon, I think whatever cut is best for you in any color denim is best for you in white. I have white bootcuts and white straights that I like equally. It depends in part on what footwear and tops you'll want to wear with them. Also, white jeans are notoriously hard to fit and find in a decent weight. So I wouldn't limit yourself. And the washes seem to fit differently from other washes, so you'll have to try different sizes to find the right fit.

Shannon, I agree with straight cuts. White bootcuts made me feel dumpy and white skinnies are hard to size. That said, I am not a white wearer, and you wear it beautifully, so I can't wait to see your looks in whatever you choose!

I own white bootcuts and while I adore the look, you do have to be more aware of the bad weather days because of the long hems. If I were purchasing a new pair I'd go for straight legs so I have more styling options. I own the same style as my blue jeans but went up two sizes for my white jeans.
