White jeans may not be happening for me

I tried 2 pairs yesterday and am not impressed. Visible pockets and too sausage casing on the thighs.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Remember I'm in Australia!

I just went for a distressed slouchy BF pair. Skinnies were too much for me to handle.

Keep trying. The fit is off a bit, but definitely a no on the pockets.

My white jeans have pretend pockets in the front. They are about 1" deep, so I get the illusion of real pockets, but not the visible pockets.

Absolutely keep trying. I must have rejected at least a dozen pairs before buying some. And don't forget the front pockets are usually easy to sew shut and remove if that's the only issue.

Levis. Can you get those in Australia?

And for white jeans, you often need to size up.

I love my white jeans! My newer, cropped pair are made by Denizen (a division of Levi's found a Target here in the states). I did size up.

I had the same problem. Have you tried Katie's? Valley Girl had some nice ones. And have a look on line at Motto. There's look good but I haven't seen them IRL yet. You are taller than me but the crops are often longer on us regular people :). Have a look at Target too. Danni Minogue range has some nice ones. Oh and I liked some I saw in Suzanne Grae. Ugh. White jeans are not easy to buy!

I prefer a thicker denim....not the lightweight variety as that ensures the pockets don't show. My favourite white jeans have faux-pocket design ---there are no pockets; but it looks Iike there are pockets from outside. Just seaming detail in reality. For another lightweight pair I got recently, I cut off the pockets and sewed the edge.

I find white skinnies a bit hard to find plus wear too. I much prefer a relaxed skinny fit or slim fit, or straight leg jeans. Bootcuts are great too!

I'm with Maneera. White skinnies are just too hard to find a flattering fit. I prefer a more substantial fabric in a straight leg with no more than 2% lycra.

When I find a pair of white jeans that work, they are wonderful workhorses. Of course the quest is always where to find them. I agree with the others - don't give up! Just look for thicker pairs, and maybe try some with a mid or higher rise too. Love the cobalt and white combo.

I agree that you need to keep trying and look for straights rather than skinnies. Do you have Lucky brand in Australia? I got a pair of bootcuts in their Lolita cut and a pair of straight legs in the Sweet Jean cut. Both are mid-rise curvy styles, so they aren't too fitted in the thigh. I also probably bought a size larger than I would have in a dark denim. I'm happy with the fit and the look of the white denim.

I'm having the same problem, and I'm pear shaped so not sure white jeans are for me.

I did try on some at Ezibuy that weren't too bad. The Capture straight leg jean is a heavier weight, no pocket show through. But definitely go up a size.

I'm feeling envious as I just laundered my white jeans to put away for the winter. You can definitely find a pair that works!!! I agree with the previous posters in that you need a less skinny pair. I like KutFromTheCloth boyfriend jeans. Can you get them in Australia??

Ann I bought a pair recently in Melbourne. The brand is Wakee 99% cotton 1% elastane. They are a great fit for me. No pocket problems but I shortened them a little. Good luck with the hunt.

I agree with Suz about sizing up for white jeans. The second photo looks very nice, maybe it will work in the next size up.

I am getting the general drift in the advice to try straight legs or slouchy and I'm very keen to go in that direction too!

For all those who said to size up - I already was, but maybe need to go another one. My thighs are disproportionately large compared to the rest of my body, sadly, and have probably got bigger again recently.

Deb - the second pair are the Danni Minouge ones from Target! I'll try your other suggestions.

Sandra - I haven't heard of Wakee but I'll search them out

Kiwimom - thanks. I have tried to stop buying from Ezibuy since I moved to a capital city (I was tired of paying for shipping) but I'll keep it in mind as a last resort.

I am not sure if we have Kutfromthe Kloth or Lucky jeans in Australian but I'll look!
