White denim sure fits differently!

I think this issue has been discussed in previous forums, but I'm discovering that white denim runs smaller than regular denim. I ordered my usual size Paige Hidden Hills in white, and they were so tight I couldn't even zip them! Had to return for the next size up, which are too big. I'm thinking of keeping them and having them taken in.....but so far I haven't had the courage to take off the tags.

Have others had this experience with white denim sizing? Do they tend to run small? Do they stretch out less or more than regular denim?

I have white Miss Me jeans that are a 28 and my blue denim Miss Me's are 27. I actually think the 28's might fit a tad tighter than the 27's! I believe black jeans can be tight, too. Perhaps it's the dyeing processes??

My white jeans are the same size as my other Gap denim jeans.

Yes, I find that either due to a smaller fit, or just the fact that tight and white is not flattering- I need to size up on most white jeans.

My white are the same as the size I wear in regular. Given that the size up was too big, you may want to just try a different pair of the smaller size. I find that 2 pairs of the same size jeans can often fit very differently! I think this is generally because they will cut the pattern using a stack of material, so the denim on the top of the pile, or the bottom, can end up being just slightly different in size. But nothing wrong with taking them in if that will make them look great, I do that too!

I think Mo might be right. My white ones are fine, but the black Perfect Boot jeans that I got today from Ebay fit much tighter than my blue ones. I'm hoping they stretch out a bit. I wonder if they were like that from the beginning, or if the previous owner washed them on hot.

I went one size up in my Joe's white jeans compared to my Joe's jeans in blue shades. Even if the fit was fine in my usual size, I prefer the white a tad baggier to avoid underwear and pocket lining visibility.

All of the white denim I have tried on lately seems to be cut a tad smaller. I promise I have NOT been going wild on Lindt truffles!

I'm still looking for the perfect pair. I agree with Lisa about how to avoid visible pantie line and pocket show-through. Makes sense to me.

Amyreh, I might try your suggestion of ordering a two of the same size so I can compare the fit. But those first ones I tried were SO tight, I'm pretty sure I'll have to size up and have them altered....
