White denim jacket with a denim skirt - OK or too much denim?

I am wearing a white denim jacket with a blue denim pencil skirt today. I like the look (cropped jacket over tucked-in top) but this combo got me wondering if this looks too much like "the Canadian tuxedo".

I am not opposed to denim-on-denim looks but tend to avoid them for myself. However, I have long decided that colored denim over blue jeans or blue jean jacket over colored denim bottoms does not quite count as denim-on-denim. What's your take?

I sure hope not, because this (and the inverse--a white denim skirt and blue denim jacket) is my summer uniform! Rock on!

I wore a white denim cropped jacket over coral jeans last Friday. I also avoid blue jeans/blue jacket but mixing blue denim with white or colored denim looks great, in my opinion!

I think blue denim combined with white or colored denim is fine. I'm not a fan of blue denim on blue denim either.

I think it's fine to wear 2 denim items, especially if they're different colors, but I do feel it also depends a bit on the cuts of the items. If at least one of the two denim items is a bit sassy or has a unique detail I think it'll work a lot better; so say a denim pencil with a very cropped white denim jacket.

Sounds like I am in the clear - it was a denim skirt with a very cropped white jacket (the Express jacket that was one of Angie's picks).
