White Bermudas several ways: Do you like any?

I bought a bunch of shorts and crops at Kohl's this spring, including white Bermudas. They fit pretty well, which is a miracle, as I am a pear. I haven't worn the white Bermudas yet. After Suz' "fail" thread, I wanted to see if I could make any outfits with the shorts that were YLF approved. Here are a few ways I might wear these shorts. Do you like any of them? Suz had said she thought she was dressed like her mother. My mother doesn't like the top in #2 because the sleeves don't match. She told me that in case I might not have noticed..

1. Shorts with grey Eddie Bauer tucked tank and Johnston and Murphy Lenore sandals.
2. Shorts with Lands End striped tee. and navy Birkis.
3. Shorts with thrifted linen top, free (!) Naot Kayla sandals.
4. Shorts with Lands End fisherman shirt, Naot Kayla again.
5. Same as 4., but with Calvin Klein loafers.
6. Shorts with Royal Robbins chambray shirt, EF Spell sandals.
7. Bonus picture: wild horses we saw this weekend.

4 is my favorite. I like the orange sandals, and think both stripe shirts look good.

Laughing about the non matching striped sleeves comment.

ETA - personal preference, but I like the sandals better than the loafers. Think casual sneakers could look good.

I think these all work, love the stripes on you. Free sandals? Love those! The only one I'm not sure about the #6, the sleeves look warm for with shorts.

Delurked, Robin, Deb, thanks! I like the orange sandals, too. Zappos sent them by accident and told me to keep them. Robin, yes, if it's hot enough for shorts I probably wouldn't wear the shirt in #6. My charcoal EB boatneck sleeveless tops are all in the laundry. I think they might work with the shorts. Also, I wouldn't wear the loafers when it's this hot. Sneakers are a good idea, Delurked, thanks! I think Cons would make it "not my mother's outfit". She would wear Keds. I think that's why I don't have any of those, either.

I like white bermudas period, so I think these are great (as long as you don't feel like your mother in them!)

I definitely prefer these with a more feminine top--So #1 and #3 are my favorites. #2 Is too tomboy, imo.
I love the colours in #4-#5.

That is funny about the free sandals. I am not much for orange, but they add a nice pop when on the foot. I bet you get comments on them when you go out. Do you have them in another color too? I have been thinking about trying Naot sandals, as they get good reviews for support and I like the way they look.

Smittie, thanks. I really love the top in #3. I have silver hair so I thought the grey top in #1 would be good. My mother is 92, and rarely wears shorts. It has to be really hot, and she lives in the SF Bay Area, so it's almost never hot there, but she wears white pants all the time, often with Keds. Actually, they look cute on her - she has polka dot ones - but I don't want to be her mini me!

Delurked, last year I had ordered the metal color which is dark metallic, when they sent the orange ones. This year I bought the same sandal in silver snake, so now I have three pairs. I think they feel heavenly, but some commenters say they are narrow. I would never have ordered orange patent, but they do add a little interest.

Well I like the white shorts but I have to admit I don't understand a lot the angst regarding shorts. I prefer them with sandals as well, but that might just be because it's hot enough here that I can't even think of wearing loafers. I love those orange sandals. The color is so fun!

I like #1 the most - I think it's because it's less classic than the striped tops and I like the sandals you are wearing with them.

I'm loving #1 and #3. Those low-contrast sandals in #1 are great, but I also love those orange babies, they were just made for fun in the sun. White bermudas forever!! (That's my summer uniform.)

I like the linen top and the shorts, as well as the great orange sandals.

My favourite is #1, followed by #3 : good breezy, carefree looks.
In my eyes, the striped tops look too literally menswear-sporty with bermudas and the chambray shirt looks seasonally confused.

Mochi, thanks! I love the goofy top in #2. BTW, I wore shorts and a sleeveless top to our ballroom dance class last night. We were all sweating, it was so warm.

Sara, thanks! Yeah, I probably wouldn't wear loafers with them. It's supposed to be 95 today. I think some angst is because people think their legs aren't good, maybe they have veins, or whatever. I don't worry about it.

Texstyle, thanks! I think #1 would be the coolest, too. I didn't know Johnston and Murphy made women's shoes, when I happened to notice them. I think of them making men's dress shoes.

Xtabay, thanks! Since YLF seems to like some of these outfits, I may venture out in your "uniform". Maybe it'll become mine, too.

Jane, thanks! Wow, those orange sandals are getting a lot of love! We went out to volunteer at the food bank, and I counted 27 horses. On the way back I think there were even more.

Skylurker, thanks! Yes, you're right, the chambray shirt would be too warm. Although, I could wear it as a topper on #1. Sometimes, even when it's hot here, it can be quite windy.

Rachy, thanks! I love seeing the horses. There were several babies in this group. When I used to go to the dog park, I would see several horses walking around outside the fence, munching on the lawn. Some people in that neighborhood didn't like the horses breaking their sprinklers, though.

My favorites are #4 (Classic/nautical with a fun pop of color), #1 (Easy breezy casual) and #3 (Boho fun). Love, love, love the photo of the wild horses!

Without reading the comments, I really liked 1 and 3. I like the details on the tops, the colors on you, and the orange sandals are so happy.

I am so sorry to have been the catalyst for our annual forum angst-a-thon over shorts, and white bermudas in particular. Yikes, I started something I didn't expect!! All because my mum used to wear white shorts with white sandals....

The thing is, I still like my own white bermudas. I just think I need to style them differently than I did on Saturday.

I love your tee with the different stripes on the arms! My favourite outfits are 4 and 5 but I may be overly sensitive to any floaty boho thing going on in the others due to my feelings about my own outfit on Saturday -- and that's about me, not you! Also, I guess I am in love with the classics no matter what. I also adore those orange sandals and how great that you got them for free!

Angie, thanks! I'm glad you thought these were okay. In reality, on a hot day like today, I would never wear loafers or a long sleeved shirt. Too hot! Even the EF sandals are kind of warm. I wore them to our dance class last night and sweated like mad. Prob TMI..

Suz, I should thank you for making me get out these shorts and think about how I could wear them. It's funny how we don't want to dress like our mothers. You like the top in #2, and so do I, but of course my mother doesn't! I don't think she dresses badly at all, but just not my style. She really does like Chicos, but I haven't as much in the last decade, when their things started to seem like cruisewear.
