while i was posting yesterday...

YLF is where i turn not just for fashion advice, its where i turn for friendly faces, kindness and a refuge from all the horrors of our world...and so i was here yesterday posting on trendy jeans and listening to Harry Potter fighting Voldemort, when the evils of the world were claiming 11 of my nieghbors.....feeling a little shook up and frankly in shock that this could happen in my quiet peaceful city and just 1 mile from my house...

Oh no. Such a profoundly horrible day for your city, well, for the world. Such hatred is beyond the scope of my imagination. And it does feel disconcerting to know you've been talking about clothes when the world is imploding - I know ,it's happened to me before too. Thinking of you....

That was horrendous. A peaceful city is no guarantee against evil. So sad for everyone affected and for the way things are going as well.

I was horrified to hear this news late last night. There just aren't any words anymore for what keeps happening and happening. And even more scary when it happens so close to home. I am glad so many of us have YLF as a refuge, we certainly/sadly need it these days :-((

Rachy, my oldest and dearest friend lives there too, and attends a different synagogue, but knows members of the one that was attacked. I have no words either. Thinking of you kkards.

It must have been terribly shocking to you all in the neighbourhood. You have my warm sympathy. I have been in similar situations. And the Bible hope has brought me great comfort.

and i know its a cliche, but i honestly never thought it would happen here, this is a remarkably safe neighborhood with many people of different backgrounds living side by side...

I think we can all use YLF as a refuge from the world/work or family stress.... I do.

And while I know it is complex - and our attempts can feel futile - people in the US can make a difference by voting for people who might consider changing the gun laws.

I am concerned about the polarisation at both ends of the political spectrum, our divisive and angry approach and rising nationalism in many countries.

Kkards, I didn’t know you were in that city! I grew up in SE Ohio, in a town on I-70.

These events make me weep for our country. Of course there are individuals who are in danger, and I care about them, but the struggle that has long been waged in our country is not going well, so I weep, and hug my son.
