Out of my now curtailed budget for the year I can only afford either a) the bra and belt or b) boots if I return the belt and bra. I was originally going to get them all and use some of fall's budget for the boots. The only catch is that these boots are basically a duplication of cognac ones I already have. What would you do?

If your current boots will last another season, I'd go with the bra and the belt. Those will make a lot of other outfits work, I suspect.

Now if your current boots are done in, then boots might be more useful....

Current boots are new new new. Bought right when I sprained my ankle and have yet to leave the house!
I think logically the belt and bra will go further. But there's this part of me that drools over the boots and at 1/4 the original price, whereas the belt is full retail and the bra half off. Maybe it's more the bargain hunter in me debating here than anything else . . . ?
You gals always help me think through why I'm debating certain purchases - thanks!

I vote boots ... because if they're 1/4 the original price, I have to have them! Just even for bragging rights, and especially if you love them. Is this a colour that would work w/ your wardrobe?

On the flipside, how is the state of your undies? Having no good bras also suck!

Ha Lyn! The bra comes tomorrow. I have all 32 bands right now (some of which I've crudely cut and sewn to be 30) so I do need the right bra(s) probablly more than a duplicate pair of boots in another color. But the DEAL is really hard to pass by!

I should add that my cognac boots I have now were about 1/3 price as well, so I already have bragging rights he he

Forget about price. That should factor in as a lower priority than what will be most useful to you!

Oooh, wrong band size is terrible! Then go with the bra.

I used safety pins at one point to make 34's into 32's ... yeah, that was a very uncomfortable time.

IMO, a good bra will make all outfits look better and the belt is versatile. The boots are def drool worthy, but let the price gratification go and wear the new ones you have.

Go with the bra. Chantelle at 1/2 off is a good deal. Did you check all the nice bras on sale at NAS? They have all the good bras that never go on sale, on sale right now. Maybe not 1/2 off but good deals. I just ordered a Natori myself.

I'd pass on the belt, I think you can find something similar if you wait, for less.

Pass on the boots too if they are redundant.

Bra for sure. I totally understand that bras aren't the most fun purchase because no one sees them (er, almost no one!), but everyone sees the results of a good bra. A proper fit truly enhances every outfit, so I believe bras are the best clothing investment you can make.

It sucks having to choose between something fun and something practical but I have to with bra and belt. If you haven't worn the other pair yet then there really is no point duplicating even if they are in a different colour.

I say bra and belt. Foundations are more important than extras, and it sounds like you already have an equivalent boot.

I'm having so many issues right now with all my worn out bras. Outfits, that were fab a year ago are now looking wrong (gaping holes in blouses, funny marks on shirts etc).

So yes, I vote for bra and belt.

Ah, Rae, it's a tough one for me too! I have enough boots (7 or 8 of varying heights and colors) but one can always find room for a new color to join the group! And, yes, I plan to be back in Tahoe this winter. But, a bra that fits would be gold. As you know first hand, I've had a few near misses But I've never actually tried on a bra that really fits me. So I guess it all boils down to whether the bra is my glass slipper tomorrow. If not, back it goes and I will begin dreaming of boots. But if it fits, it's a keeper. Stay tuned!

Mmm, 7-8 pairs of boots is decent enough that I'd hold out for a great bra even if this one isn't your glass slipper. If the girls ain't happy, nobody's happy...

I hate when I have to choose between something that is going to make more of my wardrobe look fab that no one is going to see and something everyone is going to see with a few outfits. So, even though it hard for me to say, get the bra. It will make a bigger difference, even if most people won't know it.

Another vote for the bra. If it will be your one and only size 30, I might even ditch the belt and just get two bras.

Remember, shopping isn't just about the hunt! It matters how much you use the things that you buy, not just how great of a deal the stuff you don't use was.

A good bra is golden. Get the bra! There are zillions - yes, zillions of great boots out there! You will always be able to find a pair of boots that you love. But a perfect fitting bra? As I said earlier - it is golden.

Much ado about nothing - the bra doesn't fit. I shouldn't be surprised. No bra fits The one time I got to actually try on size 30 bands last month, only 4 were to be found in all of Nordstroms. I feel like Goldilocks. Simone Perele 30D was too small, Panache 30DD was too big - Betsey Johnson 30D was spaced too far apart. Sigh. Where is my just right? Back it goes . . .
Still waiting on the belt sometime today. If it doesn't fit, I'm back to the boots, or maybe zilch! argh

That stinks, Mo. Bras are worse than jeans. I hope the belt works. Hey, look at it this way - money saved for fall purchases!

Have you used a bra fitter? I had one at Penney's last fall and it made a big difference. She was much better at finding ones that would work and figuring out if they fit well or not. I probably won't buy bras again without a bra fitter's assistance.
