Which sweater coat? Opinions, please! :)

I adore this sweater coat, not the least because it is described as "like wearing a blanket." Now that's my idea of winter fashion!

I would wear it both open and belted, and over straight leg jeans, dark wash leans and black leggings.

Options are camel color, dark charcoal and charcoal stripe. I LOVE THEM ALL.

I like the stripe one. Looks the most modern to me, plus I like the way the large collar looks on it more than the other two.

I like the solid charcoal--what a cozy, chunky knit. You're swimming against the tide of public opinion, though, with all the recent love here for fine gauge knits!

Ha - don't I know it!

I love fine gauge knits for layering...but as a MOTG, I find myself very often running between the house/garage/heated car to another person's house for a playdate (so max, 5 minutes outside?)

I was thinking that a sweater coat could be the ticket for me, and I wouldn't have to add another layer on top when I go out for errands or playdates.

I like the striped slightly better, but they're both adorable. And I love my sweater coats for the same reason--so practical and fun when you don't have to spend long periods of time outside. (But the mom in me feels compelled to remind you to keep something warmer in the car on colder days just in case the car breaks down. )

Hi MJP, I have a wonderful sweater coat that fulfills the uses you stated. I bought it from Boden. Prior to that, I bought one from ATL with no buttons and I determined I needed a quick way to keep it shut. A belt didn't work because with running in and out of places, I got tired of buckling and unbuckling.

Isabel - Yes, I do love the Boden ones...you might be right about wanting to close it. Hmmmm...room for two???

ticksgirl - no worries there, I always throw down coats in the car for everyone (and snow pants/boots during snowy weather)

I definitely like the plain charcoal best. The stripes are nice too. The other color I can't wear, but if you can, it's all good because that is one cute sweater coat!

Oooooh, it was a tough decision, ladies - I ended up ordering the striped one...my reasoning was that I own only solid knit tops and the stripes helped add visual interest. It was a coin toss, though...I love the solid charcoal because it looks very chic. Ooooh, buyer's remorse already and it hasn't shipped yet!
