Which shoes with this dress for BIL's rehearsal dinner? (& the silver shoes/gold clutch sty

Planning my outfits for BIL's wedding festivities this weekend. No time to shop.

First pic is the dress I'm planning to wear to the rehearsal dinner (semi formal, at a steakhouse). But which shoes? Black patent gladiators or shiny gold slingbacks? I know some people thought the gold shoes would not work in dressy ensembles. Are the sandals more appropriate for summer? I'll bring my black Nanette lepore jacket in case the restaurant is cold but I doubt I'll need it.

Also, finally tried on the outfit for the wedding itself with the silver shoes and gold bag. Votes were divided whether or not the mixing metals was too much. But on me I think it works bc there's bare leg in between. What do you think?

In pic 1, I like the shoes on the right best (I assume those are the black patent gladiators?).

Pics 2 and 3, Just gotta say that red dress is gorgeous on you! But to answer your question, I don't see a problem with mixing the sliver and gold. That said, on my monitor, I'm not seeing a big distinction between the metallic colors-- is it more pronounced in real life?

Jenny, IRL it's clear the shoes are silver and bag gold but the gold is a very light gold.

Also, is this bracelet combo too much? (For the pink dress and hat outfit.). Am thinking maybe too blingy.

I actually like the gold shoe in first pic, a bit unexpected. Though it may not look as good if you don't have your bag in hand. Nothing wrong with the black sandals, just not as interesting to my eye. The red dress, mix of metals, hat, jewelry is all very fab.

I like the gold shoes in the first outfit, too! They're unexpected and very cool. But the sandals also look great and bookend your hair and specs. So I might go with whichever ones seem best on the day. I am funny and don't like to wear sandals as much if it is rainy, for example. So maybe that could help you decide?

I think the gold and silver work together beautifully. No worries at all about that. And you look sensational in both these dresses!

I'm having trouble seeing the gold slingbacks in the first photo, but I definitely like the idea of them. As Suz and Marin said, they are unexpected.

The red dress fits you so well, and the whole ensemble is great (I like the mixed metallics). Also, if I'm not mistaken, those are Naturalizer Prissy shoes, right? I know because a few years back I agonized over buying them on Amazon. There were like, 6,000 5-star reviews for them on all the shoe websites, and I thought they must be these magic shoes that didn't even feel like heels. Well, (to me at least, who never does heels), a heel still felt like a heel to me when I was wearing them! Ouch. Maybe I should give them another chance. Anyways, they look great on you!

I always keep an eye on your posts, because as you mentioned, I think we're almost body doubles! Have fun at all of the festivities!

I like the gold shoes with your first outfit. And I think the wedding outfit looks great. I don't see any problem with mixing metals with your purse and shoes.

Ha, suz, good thing we are driving because I think I am going to be bringing All.The.Shoes. I guess I can wear whichever pair I don't wear to the rehearsal dinner to the farewell brunch on sunday (casual, but both pairs of shoes can easily be dressed down). I am also possibly bringing my low gold born sandals just in case the heels get to be too much for dancing by the end of the night.

Ameelizabeth, yes, they are Naturalizer prissy shoes! I actually have them in black as well. I wore these silver ones at my own wedding actually. They are really comfortable for heels, but they are in the end still heels. (But my feet get sore in a tired way in them by the end of the night, as opposed to sore in a blistery or burning way, so it's still good.)

ETA: K, I bought the hat (it's actually a pillbox hat so has a bigger, more substantial base than a fascinator) in England. Not terribly helpful, I know, but they have a MUCH better selection over there.
