which one of these would you pick?

I'm trying to decide between this shirt: http://www.jcrew.com/womens_fa...../43293.jsp

and the Bellatrix silk shirt that Angie recommended and Debbie has: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/be.....sultback=0

Pros for the J.Crew: cotton/silk, so machine washable and cooler in the summer. Slightly cheaper, too.

Pros for the Nordstrom: Seems more stylish design-wise.

Is it feasible to try them both on?

For myself; I would pick the JCrew shirt because me + silk = disaster!

I'm biased because I just bought the Bellatrix shirt in silver;-) But the J. Crew one is lovely too.
The J. Crew one is also a bit more casual, so if you're after a shirt you could both dress up and down, I'd go with the Bellatrix one.

I really like the one from Nordstrom because it seems fresher and more original. The J.Crew one is nice too, I just feel like i've seen that same shirt a lot. But....I sympathize with you on the machine washable part. So if you know that having silk may deter you from wearing it, the cotton one would actually be a better choice since you would get more use out of it.

Bellatrix shirt just seems so much more special to me. You should be able to wash it on the delicate cycle. I almost never dry clean.

I prefer the bellatrix because it has cleaner lines and I think would be easier to dress up or down. The JC looks a bit more casual to me. I try to avoid shirts with pockets on the chest and contrast buttons. If you are smaller chested though, it could work to your advantage.

It's tricky: which color are you drawn to more? One is more subdued/neutral, the other punchier. Do you have a preference for long sleeves vs. shorter ones? The Bellatrix shirt seems much dressier to me; I like the style of both. I have that J. Crew shirt in a golden olive silk--the fit is nice.

I'd choose the second based on looks alone. When it comes to fabrications, I haven't dry cleaned in several years so I understand the draw of cotton.

I like the neckline of the Bellatrix better; it looks more deliberately open than the other one. Yes, I'm weird. But both are very nice!

alex's post is pretty much how I feel, that the Bellatrix shirt looks unique whereas the J. Crew shirt is a design I've seen a million times over. So I think I'll get that one...now I need to bump my order up to $200. Any suggestions? (I'm also getting the Daniel Rainn 'Darcy' top).
