Both! 1 if you want a bold skirt, and 2 if you want one that will easily work as a neutral in pattern-mixed outfits.

Thank you, everybody! In the end she went with the bold stripe one (#1) although in this case she actually took the second one, and then exchanged it for the first (and we had quite an adventure involving a lost Nordstrom's card as a result!)

Both looked great, but the bold stripe felt more summery and this is intended as primarily a summer item for her.

Unfrumped, I would give it a try -- it does work well on many body types!

Jeanne, I tried the houndstooth, too. I loved it, actually, but decided to keep the striped one instead. The houndstooth has a different outer fabric than the others. More like a polyester.

Tough tough, but I approve the choice (esp. since I got one myself, hehe). A darker thinner stripe is always considered more conventionally flattering, but the circus stripe - you can really dress this up or down and it's *wow* if you ask me. And I think it's very Sveta.

Hi Sveta --

Man, it took long enough to get to the answer!

Great choice for all the reasons stated above -- though I was torn and would have said that about #2 as well. Have fun with your Graphical Drama skirt!

I bought both. Great choice for Sveta.

Sorry, I did not get to this thread earlier - today was very hectic at home! Thank you all for you responses and help. It was so much fun to have the whole YLF support group with us in the Nordstrom dressing room!

As Suz said I really could not make up my mind: #2 felt more flattering and easy to wear and #1 looked more summery and great fun, although it may be more difficult to create outfits with. In the end this was my reasoning:this is purely a summer skirt for me because of the weight, I will wear it with bare legs only and #1 felt more summer-like to me. Also I like the challenge
I have already worn it today with a black sequin banded tunic and silver slipper flats - go team wear!

And you should have seen how amazing she looked!! I should have taken a photo. She had on the striped skirt, a black tee with black sequin stripes of approximately the same width as the stripes in the skirt, and silver woven smoking slippers. Plus a small metallic bag.

Her very thoughtful and perceptive husband looked at her for a moment and said:

"You remind me of a tropical fish."

Brilliant!!
