Which jeans size to keep? - YouLookFab Forum

These are the Macy's Style and Co Boyfriend jeans I posted in my jeans refresh post. 1-4 are the misses size, cuffed and uncuffed, 4-8 are the petite size. Demonstrating my trust in YFL to post an unflattering shot of my backside fully tucked! I would not do this IRL. However, I am trying YFL suggestion to tuck with belt matching the top and I think I can work with this.

The reg size is much looser, fits about a full size bigger. The next size down is not available. I could easily hem it a bit shorter.

I have personal poison eye for the bunching at the knees, but have found I don't notice it on others so it may be a self perception problem.

I'm late to the boyfriend game so don't really know what is current or looks best.

(Pet peeve -why can't petite and misses be the same circumfrence dimensions, so all you are changing is rise and length?)

Comments please? Which one is best, and shoe suggestions? I have wide forefoot, narrow heel and fussy feet.

I think the petites are better too. I also wonder if you would be willing to try opening your belt one notch and/or letting the waistband of the pants slip down just a tad. The pants seem to be just a tiny bit too high on your waist which is causing them to sneak up a bit on your behind. (Sorry for being so direct.) They might be more comfortable with this adjustment, and I think they will look and move a bit better too. Of course, I could be totally wrong about this. Photos are difficult. So, my apologies in advance for a totally-awkward-might-be-wrong piece of advice.

Petites. And what Viva said. BF jeans tend to look better when they are a little lower on the waist.

Definite preference for the petite! And go with a semi-tuck Also--ditto what Viva said--I think you'll find more joy if you shop for a shorter rise.

ETA: OH...that semi-tuck comment is, in no way a comment on your bum! It's a left-over thought from your previous jeans post.

Petites seems unanimous - and and the misses will hopefully only get baggier as I am at the high end of my weight range after a recent vacation - how do you gain 5 pounds in 10 days (I've got skilz!)? I will embrace showing my ankles! I feel a post asking about sunscreen you can wear with shoes coming on.

Angie - these are my only pair of light shoes - do they work better than the dove gray desert boots?

Petite. They sit at a much better place on your hips. I agree with Viva that this style doesn't need to be cinched in at the waist and works better if it sits lower.

I also vote petite. I think nothing wrong with your backside( oh to have one so small) but FWIW it looks trimmer in petite

Definitely petite. And I have similar feet. Wide at the ball and narrow at the heel. I empathise!

Another vote for petite. And high five on your pet peeve...I totally agree. The difference between regular and petite is incredibly inconsistent across brands and it makes for a LOT of extra try-on work to find what fits. I love both of these pieces so much I may order them myself. You can consider that a compliment. For footwear, I would think sneakers, booties, maybe loafers/ballet flats, or sandals.....

Thanks to everyone - petite is the clear winner. I tried viva, Style Fan Emily K and greyscale's solution of wearing lower on the hips and it helps, although doesn't fix all the weird wrinkles - may just be my shape. Gravity is not my friend!

anne - I'd love to share shoe brand finds - I will be posting later looking for some wider width high top sneakers and a light colored low cute comfy sneaker.

Chris987 - best to buy the top in person if you can. The first one that came in the mail was cut so the border print was misaligned. I called around to find a lovely SA who checked her stock to find a good one (I liked it that much!) The fabric is soft and thin, but not sheer. It seems true to size.

After yesterday's snow, with more in the forecast, I may try this with black booties to pick up the tones of the shirt. Looking at the pic, I might need a lighter color top if I wear it with these sandals in summer (I've given up on spring).

I vote petite! You look cute and trim in them. The others overwhelm and do nothing for you. Glad you found jeans! It's not easy!
