Which of these dresses would look good on a pear shaped body? I am looking for a black party dress.

I'm also a pear shape, and to me, the first dress with the empire top would be the one. Fits nicely on top, giving some interest there, and flows away where we're biggest. I tend to stay away from strapless anything- I don't have the bust or shoulders for it, but if it works for you, that might also be an option. I think it looks more casual, though.

I'm a fellow pear, and I'd try dress #2 first, then #1, then #3. I have tried on a solid strapless dress before and really liked the silhoette. I thought the bare shoulder balanced out my hips nicely. I didn't purchase it because I was cautioned that strapless can be difficult to wear.

I have nice shoulders. I believe I may have wider shoulders than most pear shapes, so I do not mind...and actually want to show off my shoulders! I am a little worried about strapless though since I am around a 32B...30C size and would be worried that it would fall down or I do not have enough "interest" at the top. So, maybe strapless isn't the way to go.

Also, I want something with shorter sleeves, because I plan on wearing this in the summer.

I also think this one would also look nice, but I worry about the very deep neckline.

Rose, I consider myself busty (at 34D) and could never pull off that deep v dress, but I love that look.
I think anything with a fitted top and fuller skirt would work. And as always, it doesn't hurt to post photos here for input.

Sarbear, I understand it does not look good on a full bust either, but I worry about nipples showing and I just do not have the confidence to pull it off! You need a lot of confidence for that dress!!!
