I want to buy some dresses for the summer, I just found this one:

Love the color but I'm not sure about the fit.. do you think it's good for an hourglass with big "chest"?

and this one?

This has an higher neckline and I'm not sure about the black stripe..

The blue one is probably more your style, but I would love to see you surrender your waistline and have fun with the first. The color and slouchy style is so interesting!

The second one is more your style, but I question the neckline. You won't be able to wear a necklace with it because of the detailing, and when you have a big bust, you have to wear a necklace with a high neckline to break up the chest area. Or you would have to wear it under a jacket, which isn't very practical. I like the first one and even though it isn't as "you" I bet you would look fabulous in it.

you are right.. I knew when I saw the high neckline.. it isn't flattering for me.
The first one I think I'll give it a try.. maybe with a skinny belt..

They are both beautiful dresses.
The first one I can see on you with or without a belt. The blue one looks like a dress for a rectangle with the black line on the front to follow every curve, or non curve.
I'd love to see you try them both and take pictures.

hi Rute - they are both wonderful. I love the black stripe. But if you already know that a high neckline doesn't work for you then probably best to give it a pass. On the first one, I'm an hourglass with a big chest as well. I have a dress with a similar cut. I just have to be careful what type of bra I wear - the right bra can make all the difference between how your chest looks in the dress. Can't wait to see pictures.

Rute I'm bad at imagining dresses on different body types, but I agree the 2nd one seems more rute than the first. Both are great though. Actually I really love the first (style and print). Any chance you can try them both on?

Rute, how hot/humid does it get in your region in the summer? You may find 100% polyester to be a bit sticky in the summer -- what fabrics do you usually wear in the hotter months?

Our summer is very hot and dry.. but I had not noticed that the dress is 100% polyester.. thanks so much for having noticed that! I think I'll pass this one (too bad.. loved the color). I'll continue looking
