Which color moto jacket to pick, updated with my closet colors

I am torn.

Can't decide which color to pick.

Merlot or cognac? I have both burgundy and cognac shoes and belt. So can match easily. No burgundy purse. Cognac cross body.

Can't keep both.

What do you ladies suggest.

What color looks nice with my skin tone and all that and of course the versatility.

Pardon my appearance.

Tops: I have lots of black, white, ivory, beige, red, stripes (white/blue) and burgundy. Some yellow.

Bottoms: dark blue and grey jeans. I really dislike acid wash or light blue jeans so none in that color. Others are work pants in basic colors. Skirts collection is like rainbow.

Dresses are mostly black, white or black/white print.

Also I have bomber jacket in black and cream.

Pinterest ad blogs have cognac only it seems so I guess there's more inspiration in that color. Nothing really in burgundy.

I like the merlot.

OOh, both colors look good. I've been having the same dilemma over some I'm looking at.

The merlot is dressier. The cognac really good for jeans and maybe more contrast if you wear a ;pt pf black. The merlot of course great with light grays and pinks and really anything--it's also a virtual neutral..

I'm no help but maybe if you really target the tops, pants and/or skirts you'll wear the most and see if a pattern emerges. Take some photos outside. Take some photos (whether you show us or not) that combine your whole face with the jacket, for better skin tone/color eval. And does one "speak" to you more" sometimes the leather finish/color works better in one than the other.

I vote the merlot. I think it goes better with your skin and is going to be more versatile.

It's a nice jacket in either color. I like the merlot better in these pictures but would completely understand if you decide on the cognac after more thought about your clothes, footwear, and bags. Good find!

Hi Stuti, another vote for the merlot from me, the colour seems richer. However I agree with unfrumped, caro and JG, you really need to see which colour plays best in your wardrobe.

I didn't think merlot will be such a unanimous choice.
I never thought it as dressier but looking back that's so true.
Cognac makes it very casual while merlot puts it in smart casual or dressy casual.
I am going to keep merlot yay.
Never thought that considering how many cognac moto pics are over Pinterest and on blogs.
