Which color for Breton sweater?

I'm thinking about buying a new decent quality Breton sweater in a more relaxed silhouette to more or less replace three striped tops I have right now that are about to wear out in the next few months. I'm thinking of buying either the cream with navy stripes in #1/2 or the navy with cream stripes in #3/4 and I can't make up my mind.

They would replace my thin striped shortsleeved tee in #5, my clingy w&b longsleeved layering tee in #6 and my more substantial fitted pullover in #7. I think with the one new shirt I will have all the stripes that I want in my wardrobe going forward. I also still have the green striped tee in #8.

Which one would you get if you had to decide on one? Thanks.

#1. I love that the cream is more dominant than the navy.

I, too, prefer the cream with navy, and like the visual element of this combination best. btw, what brand is this? It looks very well made.

Yes. It's the original Breton classic - another reason why I prefer it.

Thanks Vicki. It's Amor Lux, around since 1938 and based in Brittany. They are said to have made the breton shirts Coco Chanel used to wear. Not sure if that's true.

I like the first too. I'm a lower contrast girl so I like those clotted cream or oatmealish colors with the navy. Very nice!

Thanks Thimblelina! I didn't even think about contrast, but you're right. The first one will probably be more flattering with my low natural contrast. Seems like the decision is already made.

I'd pick the first one. I have a three quarter sleeved one very similar to the navy and cream one, and it isn't quite as versatile as I thought it would be.

Count me in for number 1/2. Honestly, Astrid, it's a slam dunk for you. I have been wearing one of these in this colourway for four years now and I wear it SO MUCH through the spring and summer (and even winter) that it's just impossible to overestimate its value in my closet. I currently have the LLBean one but used to have one from Land's End (that I wore out). For your style and colouring this is the one to get for sure. If you can afford another, go with navy background and white stripes or a soft grey with white or cream stripe.

Thanks Suz! Yes, I think you're right and this might get a lot of wear year round. I have so many things to replace that I want to get only one for now, but I might add another color on the way, who knows. I'm going to have a look next week at the store if they have the right color in my size. If not I will have to pay shipping.

Nr 1 is the real classic and would look great for your complexion. It's also more versatile I think, but I always love a dark background better for myself, it's not the case for you, but ya know, it's more slimming, LOL:-)). BUT how could you replace with it all the other 3??? Just wondering...They are all very different!

Thanks Lyn! Well, not replace in the direct sense, obviously. But I don't think I want to wear stripes as often going forward and I'm not sure I need three striped tops. I might replace the layering shirt and the tee with a solid or a different pattern.
